This is the last Will and Testament of me
Ann Yeomans of the Parish of Saint Michael at Coslann in the
City of Norwich widow ffirst I nominate and appoint my Nephew
Joseph Covell of Runton near.... in the County of Norfolk
ffarmer and my friend Thomas Davy of Thorpe next Norwich in the
County of Norfolk aforesaid Silk Merchant Executors of this my
Will and I give to each of them the sum of nineteen pounds and
nineteen shillings for their care and trouble in the Execution
thereof and I hereby direct that my said Executors or the
Survivor of them his Executors or Admors as soon as conveniently
can be after my decease to get in and obtain payment of all
debts and sums of money which may be due to me at the time of my
decease whether the same may be placed out on mortgage or
Government or other security or deposited with any Banker Broker
or other person for safe Custody and out of the money to be
received by them I hereby authorize empower and direct my said
Executors or the Survivor of them his Executors or Admors as
soon as conveniently can be after my decease to pay the legacies
hereinafter mentioned that is to say to my Nephew George Covell
the sum of nineteen pounds and nineteen shillings to my Niece
Sarah Blackburn Widow the sum of nineteen pounds and nineteen
shillings To each of the children of my Sister ffrances Willmott
namely Joseph Sarah and Ann the like sum of nineteen pounds and
nineteen shillings Also to the children of my Sister Sarah Drew
namely John George and Sarah the like sum of nineteen pounds and
nineteen shillings each and also to my Niece Ann Daniels Widow
the sum of one hundred pounds Also to my Niece Mary Ann Daughter
of my Brother Robert Covell the like sum of nineteen pounds and
nineteen shillings Also to my Brother in Law James Yeomans the
like sum of nineteen pounds and nineteen shillings And to his
Sister Ann Twiner the like sum of nineteen pounds and nineteen
shillings To his Sister Sarah Ashley the like sum of nineteen
pounds and nineteen shillings To his Sister Mary the like sum of
nineteen pounds and nineteen shillings to his Sister Rachel
Chamberlaine the like sum of nineteen pounds and nineteen
shillings to his Son Thomas Yeomans the like sum of nineteen
pounds and nineteen shillings To my Nephew John Covell the sum
of fifty pounds To my Great Niece Harriet Davy late Harriet Hill
of Darleston in the said County of Norfolk the sum of nineteen
pounds and nineteen shillings and to my Great Nephews Samuel
Hill and Reuben Hill the like sum of nineteen pounds and
nineteen shillings each Also I Give and bequeath to my said
Nephew Joseph Covell the sum of one hundred pounds Also I give
and bequeath unto him my Cottage or tenement situate in the
Parish of Saint Lawrence in the said City now in the occupation
of Turner To hold to him his heirs and assigns for ever subject
as hereinafter mentioned And I hereby declare that it is my wish
and desire that my said Nephew Joseph Covell his Heirs and
Assigns shall pay to my Sister ffrances Wilmott during the term
of her natural life the weekly sum of four shillings the first
payment thereof to be made to her within one week next after my
decease I hereby subject and charge the said Cottage with the
Payment of the said weekly sum in case my said Nephew shall make
default in Payment thereof and I hereby direct my said Executors
or the Survivor of them his Executors or Admors to expend the
sum of five Pounds in the Purchase of bread to be distributed
amongst the poor residing in the Parish where I may happen to
die and also the like sum of five Pounds in the Purchase of
bread to be distributed amongst the poor residing in the Parish
of Saint Augustine in the said City where I desire to be buried
such bread to be distributed on the Sunday next after my funeral
in the respective Parish Churches And I give and bequeath my
china Jars to Lucy Aggs daughter of Mr Thomas Aggs of the Castle
Ditches in Norwich and all the Rest Residue and Remainder of all
my real and personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever situate
and of whatsoever nature tenure or description the same may be I
hereby give devise and bequeath to my said Nephew Joseph Covell
his heirs Executors Admors and Assigns absolutely for ever he
paying thereout all my just debts my funeral and Testamentary
expences and the charges for the Probate and attending the
execution if this my Will and I hereby declare that my said
Executors or either of them their or either of their Executors
Admors and Assigns shall not be charged or chargeable with any
more monies than shall be received by them respectively by
virtue of this my Will and I hereby declare that by virtue of
this my Will nor be answerable or accountable for any Banker
Broker or other Person in whose hands any part of the said
Monies may be lodged for safe Custody or otherwise in the
Execution of this my Will nor for any other loss of the same
without their or any of their wilful neglect or default or the
one of them for the other of them or for the acts receipts
defaults or disbursements of the other or others of them but
each of them for himself and for his own acts receipts payments
and wilful neglect or default only and I hereby revoke all
former Wills by me at any time heretofore made and declare this
only to be my last Will and Testament In witness where of I the
said Testatrix have to this my last Will and Testament contained
in three sheets of paper to the two preceding sheets set my hand
and to this third and last sheet thereof set my hand and affixed
my seal this second day of August in the Year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and forty four Ann Yeomans
