The Will of Job Yeardsley
In the Name of God Amen I Job Yeardsley of Higher
Bebington in the County of Chester Stone Mason being of sound and disposing
Mind Memory and Understanding do make this my last Will and Testament in
manner and form following first of all I Will and direct that all my just
Debts Funeral expences and the proving of this my last Will and Testament be
paid, and with the payment thereof I do charge all my Real and Personal
Estate, and I Give Devise and Bequeath to my Wife Fanny Yeardsley all my
Real and Personal Estate with all the proceeds thereof for and during her
natural life for so long as she continues my Widow, and from and immediately
after her death or Marriage which first may happen I Give devise and
Bequeath to my Daughter Margaret my Top Cottage or Dwelling House with one
half of the Garden adjoining to it situate in my Stone Quarry I Give Devise
and Bequeath to my Daughter Fanny my Middle Cottage or Dwelling House with
the other one half Garden before mentioned adjoining the Cottage, I Give
Devise and Bequeath to my Daughter Sarah my lower Cottage or Dwelling house
with the waste land adjoining to it, and lying between the said Cottage and
Mrs Ellen King’s Stone Quarry, I also Give and Bequeath to each of my
Daughters the sum of One Hundred and Fifty pounds apiece, which said sums or
Legacies I Will and direct shall be paid out of my Real Estate, at the death
or Remarriage of my Widow which first may happen, but provided any of my
Daughters should happen to die and leave no lawful Issue then in such case
it is my Will and desire that the share of her so dying as aforesaid shall
be equally divided amongst my surviving Daughters share and share alike, I
Give Divise and Bequeath to my Two Sons all my Real Estate, together with
all my live Stock and Implements in Trade and Business whatsoever and
wheresoever (except the three Cottages Gardens and Land herein above
mentioned Divised and Bequeathed) to be equally divided between them share
and share alike, but provided either of them should happen to die leaving no
lawful issue then it is my Will and desire that the share of him so dying
shall go to my surviving son, which share as aforesaid shall be equally
divided at the time of the Death of Marriage of my widow which first may
happen, I also Give and Bequeath all my Household Goods and Furniture of all
kinds, Plate linen and China to be equally divided amongst my surviving Sons
and Daughters share and share alike, at the Death of Marriage of my widow
which first may happen, but provided any of my sons or Daughters should
happen to die before my widow, leaving no lawful Issue, then in such case,
It is my Will and desire that the share of him or her so dying as aforesaid
shall be equally divided amongst my Sons and Daughters share and share
alike, and lastly I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my Wife Fanny
Yeardsley, Thomas Lightbound and Stanley Sarratt Executrix and Executors of
this my last Will and Testament and do hereby revoke and make void all
former and other Will and Wills by me at any time heretofore made, and do
declare this to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I the said
Job Yeardsley have hereunto set my Hand and Seal this Twenty seventh day of
January in the Year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and Thirty Job
