The Will of Richard Wren

 

This is the last Will and Testament of me Richard Wren of Ravenstone in the County of Bucks Yeoman which I make and ordain in manner and form following (that is to say) ffirst I will and direct that all my legal debts and ffuneral Expences shall be fully paid and discharged Next I give and devise unto my Grandson Richard Godfrey and his Heirs All And singular my Messuages Cottages Closes Lands Tenements and Hereditaments whatsoever situate standing lying and being in Tathall End in the Parish of Hanslopp aforesaid which I sometime since purchased of one Charles Wilkinson To hold the same unto my said Grandson Richard Godfrey his Heirs and Assigns for ever he and they paying thereout within six Months after he or they shall come into possession of the Rents and profits of the same Estate the Legacy or sum of one hundred Pounds apiece of lawful Money of Great Britain unto his Brothers William Samuel Thomas and John Godfrey And I do accordingly Charge my said Estate at Tathall End aforesaid with the payment of the same And my Mind and Will is and I do hereby declare the same to be that in case any or either of them the said William Samuel Thomas and John Godfrey shall happen to depart this Life before his or their Legacy or Legacies shall become due and payable then the Legacy or Legacies of him or them so dying shall go to and be equally divided amongst the Survivors and Survivor of them if more than one share and share alike But my Mind and Will further is And I do hereby direct and declare that my said Grandson Richard Godfrey shall not enter into the possession  and Receipt of the Rents and Profits of my said Estate at Tathall End so devised to him as aforesaid until he shall Attain the age of twenty five years It being my Intention and Meaning that my Daughter Sarah Godfrey shall have receive and take the Rents Issues and Profits of my said Tathall End Estate to and for her own use behoof and benefit until my said Grandson Richard Godfrey shall Attain his said age of twenty five years And I hereby accordingly Authorise and Impower my said Daughter so to do without being in any wise accountable for the same All the rest residue and remainder of my Messuages Cottages Closes Lands Tenements Hereditaments and real Estate whatsoever and wheresoever not herein before otherwise disposed of And also all and singular my Goods Chattels Cattle ready Monies Bonds Notes Securities for Money Personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever I give devise and bequeath unto my said Daughter Sarah Godfrey her Heirs Executors Admors and Assigns And I do hereby make nominate and Appoint my said Daughter Sarah Godfrey sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament and do hereby make void all former and other Wills by me at any time heretofore made and do declare this only to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I the said Richard Wren the Testator have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand and Seal the twentieth day of January in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy seven Richard Wren
