The Will of Catherine Witherby


I Catherine Witherby make this my last will and testament I give five hundred pounds to my Sister Susan Witherby I give five hundred pound to my Sister Harriet Marshall Widow of the late Revd William Marshall I give three hundred pound to my Brother George Witherby I give three hundred pound to my Brother Richard Witherby I give two hundred pound to my Brother John Witherby I give two hundred pound to my Brother ffrancis Witherby I give one hundred and fifty pound to my Sister Harriet Marshall which in addition to a former gift makes the promised three hundred for educating her children I give ten guineas to Mr Thomas ffletcher as a trifling token of remembrance and five guineas to my niece Anna Maria ffletcher with my kind love my apparel books linen I give to my Sister Susan Witherby excepting my diamond ring which I give to Susanna my Brother Richard’s Wife with my kind love I make my Sister Susan Witherby my residuary legatee & I nominate my Brother George Witherby my Executor with my best thanks for his liberality & watchful care over my property many years of my life Signed this fourth day of March one thousand eight hundred & forty one _ Catherine Witherby
