The Will of Thomas Willshire

This is the last Will
and Testament of me
Thomas Willshire of
Baltington Farm within
the Parish of Tineham in
the Isle of Purbeck in
the County of Dorset
Yeoman made and
published this Sixteenth
day of March in the Year
of our Lord One Thousand
Seven Hundred and Ninety ffive as follows that is
to say First I Give and
devise unto my Brother
Henry Willshire All that
undivided Moiety or half
part of All that my
Messuage or Tenement
Closes Land Grounds and
Premises with the
Appurtenances situate
lying and being at
Povington within the
said Parish of Tineham
which he and I hold as
Tenants in Common under
the Will of our late
Brother called Newham
Tenement To Hold unto
my said Brother Henry
Willshire his Heirs and
Assigns for ever Also I
Give unto my dear and
loving Wife Deborah Six
Ash Chairs A Small
Square Oak leaf Table
Two oak oval Tea Tables
and a mahogany Tea Chest
usually standing in the
Hall the best Bed Bed
Steed and Curtains Two
best Quilts Two pair of
the best Blanketts Three
pair of the best Sheets
A chest of Drawers
usually standing in the
Chamber over the Kitchen
A large Oak Chest a
large Deal chest An Oak
dining Table usually
standing in the East
Chamber the largest
Boiler A Brass Kettle A
Silver Cream Mugg two
Silver Table Spoons
Twelve Silver Tea Spoons
and such of my China and
Earthen Ware as She
shall make choice of The
Dresser and Shelves in
the Kitchen Four pewter
plates and Twelve pewter
Dishes to be delivered
to her by my Executor
hereinafter named within
one Month after my
Decease Also I give unto
my said Wife Deborah the
Sum of Two Hundred
Pounds in lawfull Money
of Great Britain over
and besides the Two
Hundred Pounds Settled
on her on our Marriage
Also I Give unto my
Sister Ann Wife of
Robert Cole the Sum of
One Hundred Pounds in
like lawfull Money
aforesaid Also I Give
unto my Sister Mary Wife
of Henry Sampson the Sum
of One Hundred Pounds in
like lawfull Money
aforesaid Also I give to
my Niece Jane the Wife
of John Richards the Sum
of Sixty Pounds in like
lawfull Money aforesaid
Also I give to my Niece
Anne Alner the sum of
Fifty Pounds in like
lawfull Money aforesaid
Also I give to my Niece
Betty Alner the sum of
Fifty Pounds in like
lawfull Money aforesaid
Also I Give unto Jane or
Jenny Daughter of
William Cooper of West
Creech Farm the sum of
Twenty Pounds in like
lawfull Money aforesaid
And my will is and I do
hereby direct that the
several pecuniary
Legacies hereinbefore
given shall be paid the
respective Legatees
thereof at the End of
One Year after my
Decease And as for and
concerning all the Rest
Residue and Remainder of
my Household Goods and
Furniture Plate Linnen
and China Wares Stock of
Cattle Corn Hay
Husbandry Utensils and
Implements Money
Securities for Money
personal Estate and
Effects whatsoever and
wheresoever or of what
Nature or Kind soever
(after payment of my
Just Debts and Funeral
Expenses and the
Legacies hereinbefore
given) I give and
bequeath the same and
every part thereof unto
my said Brother Henry
Willshire In Case my
said Brother Henry
Willshire do and shall
within one Month after
my Decease Assign and
set over In
Consideration of one
shilling All that
Cottage and Garden with
the Appurtenances
situate at Baltington
aforesaid late James
Elbys (which he and I
purchased of Humphry
Sturt Esquire deceased
as joint Tenants) unto
my said dear and loving
Wife Deborah her Exec.
Adm. And Assigns during
the Remainder of the
Term then to come
therein as her own sole
Property But In Case my
said Brother Henry
Willshire shall not
assign and set over the
said Cottage and Garden
with the Appurtenances
unto my said Wife within
the Time and in manner
aforesaid Then I Give
the said Rest Residue
and Remainder and every
part thereof unto my
said Wife And lastly I
do make constitute and
appoint my said Brother
Henry Willshire whole
and Sole Executor of
this my last Will and
Testament hereby
revoking and making Void
all former and other
Wills and Testaments by
me at any Time or Times
heretofore made and
declaring this only to
be my whole last Will
and Testament In
Testimony whereof I have
hereunto set my hand and
