The Will of Mary Williams

 

In the name of God Amen I Mary Williams of Coat in the Parish of Bampton in ye County of Oxford Widow tho’ infirm of body yet of sound mind and memory Praise be given to Almighty God do make & declare this my present last Will & Testament in manner and form following (that is to say) Whereas all my children have received their respective legacies given them by their Father’s last Will & Testament all but my three youngest daughters Martha, Lydia & Lois Williams Fifty pounds each according to the last Will & Testament of their Father Deceas’d which money is to be first paid & paid them out of my Goods & Chattels by my Executors hereafter named so soon as they come to their Respective Ages of Twenty one years And in case either of them shall happen to die before they come to their respective age of Twenty one years Then I will that their legacy so given shall fall to the rest of my children to be equally divided amongst them And furthermore I give to my said three youngest children before mentioned the further sum of ten pounds each to be paid them by my Executors aforesaid. Also I give to my daughter Anna Sparrowhawk the sum of ten pounds to be paid by my Executors in one year after my decease. Also I give to my son John Williams during his natural life my half yard of Free Land with all the appurtenances thereto belonging lying in the Liberty of Aston & Coat in ye Parish of Bampton aforesaid  And in case my son John Williams shall marry & have any children lawfully begotten of his wife then I give the said Freehold Estate before mentioned immediately after his decease unto my son Thomas Williams’s children & their heirs for ever And for want of such issue (that is in case he dies without issue) then I give the said Freehold Estate to my sons James Williams & Benjamin Williams & their heirs for ever share & share alike paying out of it between them to each of their sisters then living ten pounds Also it is my further Will that when these legacies are paid & discharged & if money that is in trust in my Executors Hands for my three youngest Children taken care of That then all the rest & residue of my Estate both Real & Personal Goods & Chattels whatsoever I give devise & bequeath unto all my loving children to be equally divided amongst them And I do appoint my loving son James Williams and my loving friend Adin Williams ye Elder to be my Executors in Trust over this my last Will & Testament And I do revoke disannull & make void all other Wills & Testaments by me heretofore made. In witness whereof I the said Mary Williams my hand & seal have set this eighteenth day of October in ye tenth year of the Reign of King George the Second And in the Year of Our Lord One Thousand seven hundred & thirty six            Mary Williams    Signed sealed published & declared by ye sd. Mary Williams as her last Will & Testament in ye presence of us who are Witnesses hereunto & attested by us in her presence  Jos. Collett
