Will of James Watson of Great Crakehall, bachelor, 7 September 1697




I give and bequeath unto my cousin James Watson of Newton that little close or paddock of meadow ground comonly knowne by the name of Broad Garth and now in the occupation of William Granger my tenant, to enter upon the same at the day of my decease. 
And likewise I give unto the said James Watson forty shillings to be paid to him by my executors hereafter named, after the expiration of one year after my decease. 
Item, I give unto his brother John Watson ten shillings to be paid one year after my decease.
 Item, I give unto his sister Elizabeth Watson ten shillings to be paid one year after my decease. 
Item, I give unto Catherine Clapham, the wife of Robert Clapham of Newton twenty shillings to be paid one year after my decease. 
Item, I give unto John Catrick the son of Catherine Catrick of Brunton 30s to be paid one year after my decease. 
Item, all the residue of my goods and chattels unto my aunt Elizabeth Clapham of Great Crakehall, spinster, who I make my sole executor.
