The Will of George Ward

 

This is the last Will and Testament of me George Ward of 61 Jarrom Street, Leicester in the County of Leicester Elastic Web Weaver. I hereby appoint my Brother William Ward and my son George Ward to be my Trustees. I bequeath to my eldest son George Ward, my Case of Stuffed Birds, to my Daughter Ellen my Pianoforte. The rest of my Furniture and Household effects to my Wife Ellen Ward, also to my Wife the sum of Fifty Pounds payable to her by twenty shillings per month. To my trustees I desire that my son Maynard Ward when he leaves Desford School, shall be Apprenticed to a trade and also properly clothed for the same and I desire that my trustees shall at he arrival at the age of 18 ( he names the children in the margin):

of my son Bennett Wigley Ward (or should he die before them) at his death that the whole of the property, their belongings to me in their hands shall be equally divided amongst the whole of my children then alive. My property consists of Five shares in the Building Society , One hundred pounds with Bonuses in the Crown insurance society and Thirty Pounds in the Manchester Sick Society. I desire also that my Trustees at my ?d... shall pay all my Debts and Funeral Expenses out of my Estate. This is my last Will and Testament evoking all former Wills by me at anytime heretofore made and I declare this to be and contain my last Will and Testament this second day of January One thousand eight Hundred and ninety.

Signed and declared by the said George Ward as and for his Will in the presence of us both present at the same time who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses

At Leicester on the 14 day of May 1890 Administration (with the will annexed) of the Personal Estate of George Ward late of 61 Jarrom Street, Leicester in the county of Leicester Elastic Web Weaver deceased who died on the first day of February 1890 at 61 Jarrom Street, aforesaid was granted to George Ward a lawful son of the said deceased and such claiming to be a Residuary legatee named in the said Will he having been first sworn. No Executor being named in the said Will and Ellen Ward the lawful Widow and ?R... of the said Deceased having consented.
