The Will of William Waples
In the Name of God Amen I William Waples of
Eastcote in the County of Northampton yeoman being sickly and infirme of
Body But (praised be God) of perfect mind and memory Doe this Twentieth
day of November in the yeare of our Lord and Saviour Christ 1673 And in
the Twenty Fifth yeare of the Raigne of our Sovereigne Lord Charles the
Second by the grace of God of England France and Scotland King Defender
of the Faith Make and ordaine this my last Will and Testament in manner
following First I comitt my soule into the hands of Almighty God, And my
body to be decently buried Att the discretion of my Loving wife Anne
Waples And my Executors hereinafter named And as touching my Worldly
Estate First I give and bequeath unto my said Loveing wife ne hundred
and Fifty pounds To be paid unto her one yeare after my decease Item I
give unto my said Loveing wife All my Gold and Silver Plate And all the
goods she brought when I married her And the goods which was my Cousin
Ann's or any other She Shall resonably desire Item I give unto my
Loveing daughter Mary Waples the Sume of Five pounds, to be paid to her
one yeare after my decease or sooner if my Executors can with
Conveniency Item I give unto my Loveing sister Margery Browne The Sum of
Tenn pounds to be paid to her one yeare after my decease Item I give
unto my Sister Margeries Children the Sume of Tenn Shillings a peece to
be paid unto them one yeare after my decease or to Such of them as shall
be liveing then and their mother's acquittance Shalbe a discharge for
the Same Item I give unto my Loveing kinsman Thomas Waple of Dowlescoate
the sum of Five pounds to be paid to him one yeare after my decease Item
I give unto his Children the Sume of Tenn Shillings a peece To be paid
unto them one yeare after my decease or to such of them as shalbe
liveing And their father's acquittance Shal be a discharge for the Same
Item I give unto my Three Grandchildren Elizabeth Waple Anne Waple and
Mary Waple the Sume of Twenty Pounds a peece To be paid unto them att
the age of Twenty one yeares or to such of them as Shal be then liveing
And their Acquittances under their hands and Seales or the Acquittances
of any of the Parties that shall receive Legacies under their hands and
Seales Shal be a discharge for the Same And all the Rest of my goods
Chattles Cattell and Estate whatsoever I give and bequeath unto my onely
Loveing Sonne Thomas Waple whom I doe hereby make and ordaine my Sole
Executor of this my last Will and Testament And I doe desire my Loveing
Kinsman John Arnold of Daventry and John Burt of Feidl Burton to be
Overseers of This my Will And I do give them Five shillings a peece To
buy them and their Wives Gloves And I doe hereby Revoke and disannull
all former Wills gifts or grants by me made whatsoever In Witnes whereof
I have hereunto sett my hand and seale the day and yeare first above
written William Waple This Will was kindly transcribed and sent in by Ros.
