The Will of Jane Walker

 

Swerford July the Seventeenth 1717

Memorandum of some particular matters which the underwritten Jane Walker desires may be performed and done after her decease Imprimis it is her intent that her Estate Title and Interest in the ffarm at Kennshott in Suffolk be sold and the monys arising from such Sale be applied towards the payment of her Debts Item it is Intent and desire that the summ of Two hundred pounds be paid to each of her Nieces viz Mary Brideoake Elizabeth Brideoake and Jane Brideoake when they shall severally come to the Age of twenty one years And if any of the said Nieces dye before they arrive at the Age of twenty one years that then it shall be left to the discretion of her Sister Elizabeth Brideoake to appoint the sums which should have been paid to her Daughter to be paid to her surviving Children as she shall think fitt. Item it is her desire that the sume of Two hundred pounds be paid to her Nephew John Brideoake when he shall come to the Age of twenty five years and if he shall happen to dye before he come to that Age it is then her Intent that her Sister Elizabeth Brideoake shall dispose of the moneys which should have been paid to her son John Brideoake among her surviving Children in such manner as she shall think fitt/ Jane Walker/ Signed in the presence of R Brideoake

8th September 1720
Appeared Personally Richard Lynch of the Inner Temple London Gent and by virtue of his Oath deposed that this Deponent was well acquainted with Jane Walker late of Swerford in the County of Oxon a Spinster deceased and with her manner and character of handwriting this Deponent having often seen her write and received Letters from her And the Deponent having now seen the Paper writing hereunto annexed purporting the last Will and Testament of the said Deceased beginning thus Vizt Swerford July the seventeenth 1717 A Memorandum of some particular matters which the underwritten Jane Walker desires etc. And ending thus vizt Among her surviving Children in such manner as she shall think fitt and subscribed Jane Walker Doth verily believe that the Name Jane Walker so subscribed to the bottom of the said Paper is subscribed by and with the proper handwriting of the said Jane Walker deceased Richard Lynch
