The last Will and
Testament of me Agnes
Wakeham of South Milton in the County of Devon Widow made
this Eighth day of January One Thousand seven hundred and Eighty
two ffirst I will and direct that all my Just Debts and ffuneral
Charges be paid and discharged whereas I have [?] in some or one
of the publick ffunds three hundred pounds Stock Now do give
and dispose of the same in the ffollowing manner that is to say
unto my Son James Wakeham Twenty pounds thereof unto
his Son John Wakeham Twenty pounds thereof unto each of the
other Eight Children of my said Son James Ten pounds
(making together Eighty pounds.) thereof unto my son in Law
John Steele ffive pounds thereof unto his Daughter Agness
Wakeham Steele ffifty pounds thereof unto his Daughter
Sarah Steele ffifty pounds thereof unto his Daughter
Elizabeth (the now Wife of Joseph Moore for her Sole and
separate use Ten pounds thereof unto his Daughter Mary
the now Wife of Thomas Tucker for her Sole and separate use Ten
pounds thereof and unto my Daughter Elizabeth the Wife of
the said John Steele ffifty ffive pounds the remainder
thereof and I do direct that the aforesaid Legacy shall be paid
at the end of ffour years next after my decease in such
proportions and with such abatements respectively as the said
three Hundred pounds Stock may then sell for if under par with
Interest for the same respectively in the mean time to be paid
yearly or half yearly as received and proportionably according
to the interest or dividends the said three hundred pounds Stock
may produce and my Will is that if the said three hundred pounds
Stock shall sell at the end of the said ffour Years above par no
further Sum or increase shall be paid the Several Legatees those
the Sums herebefore mentioned and my Will also is that the
receipts of the aforesaid Elizabeth Moore and Mary Tucker shall
be sufficient Discharges for their aforesaid Legacies and for
the Interest or Dividends thereof in the mean time and as fully
and effectually as if they were unmarried and all the rest and
residue of my Goods, Chattels personal and Testamentary Estate
whatsoever I do hereby give and bequeath unto my aforesaid
Daughter the said Elizabeth Steele and do nominate and appoint
the said Elizabeth Steele whole and Sole Executrix of this my
last Will and Testament hereby revoking and making void all
former Wills and Testaments by me made In Witness whereof I have
hereunto set my hand and Seal the day and year ffirst above

published and declared by the said Agnes Wakeham the Testatrix
as and for her last Will and Testament in the presence of us

This Will
was proved at London the twenty ffourth day of January in the
year of Our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and Eighty ffive
before the Right Worshipful Peter Carport Doctor of …………… Keeper
or Commissary of the prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully
constituted by the Oath of Elizabeth Steele Wife of John Steele
the Daughter of the Deceased and Sole Executrix named in the
said Will to whom Administration was granted of all and singular
the Goods, Chattels and Credits of the said deceased who having
been first sworn by Commissioner Suly to Administer./. E.S.
