The Will of Thomas Veere

 

In the Name of God Amen The Eleaventh day of Aprill in the Tenth yeare of the reigne of our Sovereigne William the third by the grace of God of England Scotland ffrance and Ireland king Defender of the ffaith Annoq Domini one thousand six hundred and ninety eight I Thomas Veere of Laighton Bussard in the County of Bedford Gent being of good health in body and of sound and perfect mind and memory God be praised therefore but calling to mind the uncertainty of this present life Doe therefore make and ordaine this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme following that is to say first and principally I doe comend my soule into the hands of Almighty God my Creator trusting to be saved by the merits of Jesus Christ my Redeemer ffor my body I do comitt the same to the earth decently to be buryed And for my worldly goods and estate I doe dispose thereof as followeth Imprimis I doe give will devise and bequeath unto Sarah my loveing Wife and to her Heires and Assignes forever All that my one Messuage or Tenement wherein I now dwell with all and singular Houses Outhouses Edifices Buildings Barnes Stables Yards Gardens Orchards and Backsides thereunto adjoining and belonging situate and being in Laighton Bussard aforesaid in the County of Bedford Alsoe all my ffreehold arrable Land ley meadow and pasture ground with the appurtenances lying in the ffields Meadowes and Precincts of Laighton Bussard aforesaid in the said County of Bedford Alsoe all that my one other Messuage or Tenement with the appurtenances wherein one Richard Plesteed now doth dwell with all and singular Houses Outhouses Edifices Buildings Barns Stables Yards Gardens Orchards and Backsides to the said last mentioned Messuage or Tenement belonging and appertaining situate and being in Cuddington in the County of Bucks aforesaid and now in the severall tenures and occupations of Richard Piddington and James Rose their or one of their Assign or Assignes And alsoe all and singular Woods and Trees Hedges Ditches Profitts Comons and appurtenances whatsoever unto my said Messuages Lands and Premises belonging and appertaining To have hold and enjoy my said two Messuages or Tenements Arrable Land Ley Meadow and Pasture ground and premises with their and every of their appurtenances unto the said Sarah my loveing Wife and to her Heirs and Assigns forever Provided alwayes and my will is that she the said Sarah my loveing Wife her Heires and Assignes doe and shall well truely pay or cause to be paid unto Sarah West my Daughter now wife of Benjamin West the sume of ffive pounds of lawfull money of England within six moneths next after my decease And unto Mary Keene my Daughter now Wife of Richard Keene the sume of Three pounds of lawfull money of England within six moneths next after my decease And unto Elizabeth Veere my Daughter the sume of Three pounds of lawfull money of England within six moneths next after my decease And unto Rebecca Clifton my Daughter now wife of Henry Clifton the sume of Three pounds of lawfull money of England within six moneths next after my decease And unto Agnes Woodman my Daughter now Wife of Henry Woodman the sume of Three pounds of lawfull money of England within six moneths next after my decease Item I doe give will and bequeath unto Jonathan Veere my son the sume of ffive pounds of lawfull money of England to be paid unto him by my Executrix out of my personall estate within six moneths next after my decease Item I doe give unto Richard Veere my brother all my weareing apparel Item I doe give unto Richard Wigg gent and John Hillersdon gent one guinea apeice to buy each of them a gold ring And I doe desire them the said Richard Wigg and John Hillersdon to be aiding and assisting to my Executrix in the execution of this my last Will and Testament to see the same performed according to the true intent and meaning hereof Item all the rest residue and remainder of my money goods household stuff bills bonds Cattle Chattells and Personall Estate whatsoever unbequeathed my debts legacies and funerall expences being first paid and discharged I doe give will and bequeath unto the said Sarah my loveing Wife And I doe ordaine and make her the said Sarah my Wife full and sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament And I doe hereby revoke and make void all former Wills by me made or spoken and doe pronounce and declare this present to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seale the day and yeare first above written Thomas Veere
