In the Name of God Amen The Nineteenth Day of September in the Twelfth year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord William the Third by the grace of God of England Scotland ffrance and Ireland King Defender of the faith Annoq Dm One thousand & seven hundred I Sarah Veere of Laighton Bussard in the County of Bedf Widow being sick in body but of sound mind and memory (God be praised therefore) Do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say ffirst I do recommend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God my Creatour trusting to be saved by the merits of Jesus Christ my Redeemer My body I do commit to the Earth decently to be buryed And for my worldly goods and Estates I do give will and devise the same as followeth Impris my will is that the Annuity or yearly Sum of eight pounds which was given and bequeathed by Jonathan Veere my Son in and by the last Will and Testament of Rebecca King my Mother deced shall be well and truly paid out of my personall Estate yearly and every year during the term of his naturell life the said Jonathan Veere my son according to the intent and meaning of the last Will and Testament of the said Rebecca King my Mother deceased Item I do give will devise and bequeath All and singular my Houses Closes Lands Tenements and Hereditaments whatsoever situate and being in Cuddington in the County of Bucks with their and every of their appurtenances unto the said Jonathan Veere my Son and to the Heirs of his body lawfully to be begotten And if the said Jonathan Veere my son shall happen to dye and depart this naturall life without Issue of his body lawfully begotten Then I do give will and devise All and singular my said Houses Closes Lands Tenements and Hereditaments in Cuddington aforesaid with their appurtenances unto Mary Keene (wife of Richard Keene) Rebecca Clifton (wife of Henry Clifton) Agnes Woodman (Wife of Henry Woodman) and Elizabeth Veere my Daughters and their Heirs equally amongst them to be divided share and share alike Provided allwayes and my will is that they the said Mary Keene Rebecca Clifton Agnes Woodman and Elizabeth Veere my Daughters and their Heirs do and shall (out of the said premises when and so soon as the sum shall come to them by virtue of this my Will well and truly pay and cause to be paid unto Sarah West my Daughter (now Wife of Benjamin West) the Sum of ffive pounds per Ann of lawfull money of England yearly and every year during the term of the naturall life of the said Sarah West my Daughter for and towards her sole and seperate maintenance at or upon the two most usual ffeasts or Dayes of Payment in the year that is to say the ffeast dayes of St Michael the Archangel the Annunciation of the blessed Virgin Mary by even and equall portions the first payment thereof to begin at such of the said ffeasts as shall first next happen after my said Lands and Tenements shall come to them the said Mary Rebecca Agnes and Elizabeth my Daughters or their Heirs as aforesaid And my will is that the Aquittance or other discharge in Writing under the hand and Seal of the said Sarah my Daughter (without her said Husband) shall be a good and sufficient discharge for the said Annuity or yearly Sum of ffive pounds per Ann And from time to time and at all times when the same shall be paid according to the true intent and meaning of my Will and Testament Item I do give will devise and bequeath All that my Cottage or Tenement with the appurtenances wherein Thomas Cherry now doth dwell situate and being in Laighton Bussard aforesaid in the said County of Bedf unto Richard Wigg Gent and John Hillersden Gent and their Heirs in trust for the sole maintenance of the said Sarah West my Daughter for the term of her naturall life (they making no wast or spoil) and after her decease I give and devise the said Cottage or Tenement with the appurtenances unto John West my Grandson (and Son of the said Sarah West) and to the Heirs of his body lawfully to be begotten And for want of such Issue unto them the said Jonathan Veere my son Mary Keene Rebecca Clifton Agnes Woodman and Elizabeth Veere my Daughters and their Heirs and Assignes for ever Item I do give will devise and bequeath unto the said Elizabeth Veere my Daughter and to her Heirs and Assignes for ever All those my ffreehold Lands lying in the Common ffields of Laighton Bussard aforesaid which were given to me and to my Heirs in and by the last Will and Testament of Thomas Veere Gent my late Husband deceased with all and singular of their and every of their appurtenances To have and to hold to her the said Elizabeth Veere my Daughter her Heirs and Assignes for ever Item I do give the Sum of fforty pounds of lawfull money of England to be paid by my Executors soon after my decease out of my Personall Estate into the hands of John Hillersdon of Stoke Hamond in the said County of Bucks Gent and John Knight the Elder of Leadbourne in the said County of Bucks Yeoman Upon this speciall trust in them by me reposed that they the said John Hillersden and John Knight and the Survivor of them and the Executors and Administrators of the Survivor of them do and shall put out or imploy the said fforty pounds at Interest from time to time and at all times during the term of the naturall life of the said Sarah West my Daughter and all the interest product or increase as shall arise or be made thereof my will is that they the said John Hillersden and John Knight and the Survivor of them and the Executors and Administrators of such Survivor shall yearly imploy and bestow in the sole and seperate maintenance of the said Sarah my Daughter in such manner as they my said Trustees shall think meet from time to time and at all times during the term of the naturall life of the said Sarah West my Daughter And after the decease of the said Sarah my Daughter my will is that the said principall Sum of fforty pounds shall be paid unto and amongst the said Jonathan my son Mary Rebecca Agnes and Elizabeth my Daughters and their Heirs and Assignes for ever equally amongst them to be divided share and share alike And if any of them the said Jonathan my son Mary Rebecca Agnes and Elizabeth my Daughters shall happen to dye before the said Sum of fforty pounds shall become due to be paid unto them as aforesaid then I do give the parts and shares thereof of him her or them so dying unto or amongst the respective Child or Children of him her or them so dying but if no such Child or Children shall be then unto the Executors and Administrators of him her or them so dying respectively and severally Item all the rest residue and remainder of my money goods household stuffe bills bonds mortgages chattels and personall Estate whatsoever (unbequeathed) my Legacies as aforesaid are expressed and my ffunerall expences thereout deducted and discharged I do give will and bequeath unto them the said the said Jonathan my son Mary Rebecca Agnes and Elizabeth my Daughters equally amongst them to take and be divided share and share alike And I do ordain and make them the said Jonathan Veere my son and Elizabeth Veere my Daughters and their Heirs and Assignes for ever joint Executor and Executrix of this my last Will and Testament And I do hereby revoke and make void all former Wills by me made and do pronounce and declare this present to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament contained in two Sheets of Paper to both which I have set my hand and Seal the day and year first above written
