In the Name of God Amen I Jonathan Veere of the Parish of St Austin in the City of London Grocer being sick in body but of sound and disposeing minde memory and understanding revokeing all former Wills by me at any time heretofore made Doe make and ordaine this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme following (that is to say) Imprimis I Recommend my Soul unto the hands of Allmighty God that gave it And my Body I committ to the Earth to be decently and privately buryed in such manner and at such place as my Executor herein after named shall think fitt And as to my worldly Estate I give devise and bequeath the same as followeth Whereas I have surrendered unto the hands of the Mannor of Laton Bussard in the County of Bedford or otherwise All that my Coppyhold Messuage or Tenement in Laton Bussard aforesaid with the appurtenances now or late in the tenure or occupation of the widow White To the use of my last Will and Testament in writeing and to the use of such person and persons and for such Estate and Estates as I the said Jonathan Veere by such my last Will should Declare nominate or appoint as by the same Surrender (relation thereto being had) may more plainly appear Now I the said Jonathan Veere Doe by this my last Will and Testament in Writeing Declare nominate and appoint that the said Messuage or Tenement with the Appurtenances shall goe to and be to the use of William Smith and Richard Keene of Askott in the County of Bucks Yeoman their Heires and Assignes Subject nevertheless to the Trusts hereinafter mentioned and declared of and concerning the same (that is to say) Upon speciall Trust and Confidence and to the intent and purpose That they the said William Smith and Richard Keene their Heires and Assignes shall and doe from time to time dureing the life of Sarah West (the now Wife of Benjamin West Citizen and Tinman of London) Dispose of pay and apply the Rents Issues and Profitts of the said Messuage or Tenement Unto such Person or Persons and to and for such uses Intents and Purposes and in such parts proportions manner and forme as she the said Sarah shall notwithstanding her Coverture and whether she be sole or marryed from time to time and at any time or times dureing her Life by any Writeing or Writeings under her Hand Signed in the presence of two or more Credible Witnesses nominate direct limitt or appoint To the Intent the same may not in any sort be liable or subject to the Controul intermedling Debts fforfeitures or Engagements of her said Husband or any future Husband with whom it shall or may happen the said Sarah to Intermarry And in Default of such Direction or Appointment then Upon Trust dureing the Life of the said Sarah to pay the said Rents Issues and Profitts into the proper hands of the said Sarah whose Receipt from time to time notwithstanding her Coverture and whether she be sole or Marryed shall be a sufficient discharge to the said Trustees for the same And upon further Trust and Confidence and to this further Intent That they the said William Smith and Richard Keene their Heires and Assignes shall and will immediately after the Decease of the said Sarah Convey Imploy and Dispose of the said Messuage or Tenement and Premises unto or to the use of John West (son of the said Sarah and Benjamin West) and the Heires of his Body And for default of such Issue unto or to the use of the right Heirs of me the said Jonathan Veere for ever And my Will and Minde is that all necessary Charges attending my said Trustees in the Execution of the Trusts aforesaid shall be borne and paid out of my said Copyhold Estate Item as to for and concerning All that my ffreehold Messuage or Tenement in Laton Bussard aforesaid wherein my late ffather Thomas Veere did lately Inhabit and all outhouses Gardens Orchards Backsides Stables Barnes Yards and appurtenances whatsoever to the same belonging or in any wise appurtaineing And all other my ffreehold and Copyhold Lands Messuages or Tenements and all reall Estate whatsoever (not by me herein or hereby otherwise bequeathed or disposed of) I give devise and bequeath the same unto the said Richard Keen Henry Woodman of Crafton in the County of Bucks Yeoman Henry Clifton Senior of London Clothworker and John Vaux of London Clothworker and to their Heires and Assignes share and share alike as Tenants in Common and not as joint Tenants Item I give to Henry Clifton junior son of the said Henry Clifton Senior the sum of fforty pounds Item I give to Sarah Keene one of the Daughters of Rebecca Keene one other of the Daughters of the said Richard Keene the sume of fforty pounds Item I give to Veere Woodman son of the above named Henry Woodman the sume of fforty pounds and to Agnes Woodman daughter of the said Henry Woodman the sume of fforty pounds Item I give unto the above named John Vaux the sume of fforty pounds All the Rest and Residue of my Estate after my Debts Legacies and ffunerall charges paid I give and bequeath unto William Parker of Eversholt in the County of Bedford gentleman whom I nominate and appoint sole Executor of this my Will not doubting his care and fidelity in the due Execution thereof soe farr as in his lyes In Witness whereof I the said Jonathan Veere have to this my Will subscribed my name and set my seale this seventh Day of June Anno Domini one Thousand seven Hundred and seven And in
