The Will of Erasmus Vaughan

 

In the Name of God Amen I Erasmus Vaughan of Trecoon in the County of Pembroke Esquire being at this moment in a declining state of health but of sound and perfect Memory and Understanding in which I give unto Almighty God my most humble and unfeigned thanks and being now fully intent on settling my worldly concerns knowing the uncertainty of human life do make and declare this my last will and Testament in manner following that is to say I give unto my dearly beloved Brother Richard Vaughan the sum of One Hundred Pounds I also give unto my dearly beloved Sister Mary Vaughan an Annuity of Twenty Pounds which Legacy and Annuity I direct to be Paid by them by my Executor hereinafter named within Six Months after the day of my decease and I do charge the same on the Tenement of Nantibigail in the Parish of Llanvair Nantygoff in the County Aforesaid I likewise Give unto my dearly beloved friend and Brother in Law Joseph ffoster Barham Esquire and unto my dearly beloved Sister his Wife and unto my dearly beloved Sister Ann Joan and Martha and unto my dearly beloved Sister in Law Wife of my abovementioned Brother Richard Vaughan the Sum of five Guineas each or a ring of that value desiring their acceptance of the same as a small testimony of my love and affection to them and I Give devise and bequeath unto my dearly beloved Brother John Vaughan and to his heirs for ever all my Estate real and Personal situate lying and being in the County of Pembroke and in the Town and County of Haverford West or wherever else situated and I do hereby nominate and appoint my said Brother John Vaughan to be my sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament desiring him to pay all my just debts whatsoever and howsoever due freely and willingly without any trouble or law Suit I also desire to be interred in a Private Manner and with as limited expence as may be and that Eight of my Tenants may be bearers and I hereby revoke all my former wills In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this twenty sixth day of July One thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy five Erasmus Vaughan

16 March 1790 Administration with the Will annexed to Martha Vaughan Spinster Sister of the deceased and Sole Executrix to the Will of John Vaughan the said John Vaughan dying without taking upon him the execution of the Will.
