The Will of Sarah Usher of Devizes in the County of Wilts and Diocese of Sarum

In the Name of God Amen The thirteenth day of March One thousand Seaven hundred & fivety four According to the Computation of the Church of England

I Sarah Usher of Devizes in the Parish of St John the Baptist in the County of Wilts Widow being of Perfect Memory & remembrance praised be Almighty God for the same do make & ordain this my last Will & Testament in manner & form following that is to Say Principally & first of all I Give & recommend my Soul into the hands of God that gave it & for my body I recommend it to the Earth to be buried in a Christian like manner at the discretion of my Executor hereafter Nominated & as touching Such Worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life I give devise & dispose of the Same in the following manner and form Viz Imprimis I Give and bequeath to my Son ffrancis Phillips that Bed that was lately Edward Ushers Mothers with the Red Rings thereto belonging & one Shilling

Item I Give & bequeath to my Son Roger Phillips that Bed in the undermost Chamber & all thereto belonging & one Shilling Item I Give & bequeath to my two Grandsons Francis & John Phillips the two Sons of my Son Mark Phillips One shilling each Item I Give and bequeath to my Daughter Sarah Painter whom I likewise Constitute make & ordain my only & Sole Executor of this my last Will & Testament the House I now live in with the Outhouse Stable & Gardings together with all my Household Goods & moveables by her freely to be possessed & injoyed And I do hereby utterly disallow revoke & disannul all & every other former Testaments Wills & Legacies Willed or bequeathed ratifying & confirming this & no other to be my last Will & Testament In Witness whereof I have hearunto Sett my hand and Seal the day & yeare above written Sarah Usher
