This is the last Will and Testament of me Thomas Upham of Purfleet Parish of West Thurrock Essex and fforeman of Carpenters in the Engineers Department of Ordnance at said place made this twelve day of January in the Year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and eighteen in manner following that is to say I give and bequeath to my loving Wife Catherine Upham all the ffurniture plate wearing apparel of myself & my said Wife or Effects whatsoever I also bequeath to my said Wife all the property I am possessor off in the bank of England this Will is therefore to the intent of bequeathing to my said Wife all my Property estate and effects wheresoever and whatsoever kind and nature for her sole use and benefit I do nominate Catherine Upham Executrix of this my last Will and testament And I do leave to my Executrix the discretion of my ffuneral which I wish should be in a Plain decent manner and to be buried in the Church yard at Avely And lastly I do revoke and make void all former Wills by me made and do declare this to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twelve day of January in the Year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and eighteen in the year above written Thomas Upham
