This is the last Will
and Testament of me
Sarah Trethowan of the
Village of fflushing in
the County of Cornwall
Widow being of sound and
disposing mind memory
and understanding I do
this 7th day of
September in the year of
our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and thirty
nine make and publish
this my last Will and
Testament in manner and
form following that is
to say ffirst I will
that all my just debts
funeral charges and the
expence of ...... a tomb
over my granve and also
the expence of proving
this my last Will and
Testament be paid by my
trustees hereinafter
named I give and
bequeath unto James
Odgers of fflushing
Tailor and John Richard
Manager of the Western
District Bank of
ffalmouth the sum of
fifty pounds In Trust to
be laid out on good
security and the
interest to be applied
to the use of William
Trethowan the Son of
Richard Trethowan my
late Nephew until he
attains the age of
twenty one years when he
shall be paid the said
sum of fifty pounds But
in the event of his
death before he attains
that age then that sum
shall be paid to the
surviving children of
William Trethowan when
they are of age N. B. Wm
Trethowan and Winifer
Sarah Trethowan I also
give the said son of
Richard Trethowan the
silver watch which did
belong formerly to my
ffather Thos Trethowan
deceased and two silver
ladle spoons I also give
the sum of fifty pounds
to Wm Trethowan my
Nephew now living at
Kingston near Plymouth
to be paid him three
months after my decease
I also give fifty pounds
to Eliza Paddy of
Plymouth I also give
seventy pounds to each
of the following persons
all my Cousins N.B.
Nancy Millar Mary Ann
Ellis Sarah Coach Allis
Prin..........and
Matilda James And to
Nancy Millar I give the
sum of one hundred
pounds all these
bequests to be paid
three months after my
decease I also give to
my Nephew William
Trethowan a silver punch
ladle milk jug and two
table spoons a bed
bolster and pillows and
a long plain looking
glass I also give to my
Niece Eliza Paddy a
mahogany dining table an
elbow chair two small
chairs and a waiter I
also give to the
aforesaid Nancy Millar
the annual sum of two
pounds on....fifty
pounds vested in a
leasehold property
jointly with James
Odgers situate in
fflushing and at the
decease of the life
insured on a policy of
Insurance in the
Promoter Insurance
Office she shall be paid
the sum of one hundred
pounds and half the sum
insured above that
amount And all profits
arising from the said
premises during the life
insured I also give to
the said Nancy Millar
all monies that may be
due to me from the said
premises Everything
relative to the said
leasehold property to
remain and be carried on
by Nancy Millar and Jas
Odgers the same as has
been with hi and myself
untill the ..... of the
life unless the said
James Odgers should seek
to make any alteration I
also give and bequeath
to the said Nancy Millar
all the Rest Residue and
Remainder of my money
household furniture and
whatsoever may belong to
me of what nature kind
or quality soever the
same may be at the time
of my decease and not
hereinbefore given and
disposed of I also
hereby nominate
constitute and appoint
Jas Odgers of fflushing
tailor and John Richard
Manager of the Western
District Bank of
ffalmouth Trustees over
all my property and
Executors in Trust of
this my last Will and
Testament revoking all
former Wills and
Testaments heretofore
made by me In Witness
whereof I have to this
my last Will and
Testament set and
subscribed my hand and
seal the day and year
