The Will of James Travis

 

8 February 1750 I JAMES TRAVIS of Whittaker in Butterworth, yeoman, make this my last will
I give to Mary my wife one annuity of 4 pounds to be issuing forth of my messuage and Tenement Lands etc called Whittaker until she die or marry I also give unto her the new parlour where we used to lie with the Chamber over it and 20 pounds in money or goods at her own choice. And concerning my said Messuage and Tenement called Whittaker with the Lands etc with one Cottage now in the occupation of me the Testator and one Abraham Unsworth I devise the same to my second son James Travis with the said New parlour and Chamber over it after the determination of my wife's Estate therein I give to my eldest son John Travis 80 pounds to my third son Edmund Travis 100 pounds to my fourth son Thomas Travis 80 pounds to my eldest daughter Elizabeth wife of Samuel Scholefield 32 pounds to my second daughter Dorothy Travis 50 pounds. to my third and youngest daughter Mary Travis 50 ponds Executors my said wife my said son Edmund Travis and John Travis of Heyside, Parish Oldham
