The Will of Benjamin Travis


9 June 1748 I BENJAMIN TRAVIS at Scholfield Hall, Butterworth, wooling weaver, make this my last will
my debts be paid Then its my will that my wife Jane Travis have all that it is in my power goods and chattels Lands and Livings and I do give the same unto her so long as she continueth my wife but if she marry then to go as is herein directed

I give unto my son James Travis 1/-
unto my son John Travis 1/-
unto my son Benjamin Travis 9 Pounds
unto my daughter Mary wife of John Clegg 1/-
unto my daughter Elizabeth, wife of Richard Holding 1/-
the Remainder of my goods do I give unto my sons Joseph Travis and George Travis and Edmund Travis and my daughter Dolley Travis equally.

Executors : my wife Jane Travis and my son Edmund - Benjamin (I.S.) Travis his mark.
Witnesses: Edmund Travise, John Turnough

Proved: 17 December 1748 by Jane Travis one of the Exors named the other having renounced
