In the Name of God
Amen I Thomas Townsend of Weald in
the parish of Bampton in the County of Oxford Farmer being of
sound mind and understanding (thanks be to Almighty God for the
same) do make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form
following that is to say First I desire and direct that all my
just debts funeral expenses and the expenses of proving this my
Will be fully paid and satisfied by my Executors hereinafter
named out of my personal Estate and Effects which I may die
possessed of then I give and bequeath unto my son Joseph
Townsend of Aston the sum of one guinea Also I give and bequeath
to my grand daughter Elizabeth Townsend daughter of David
Townsend the sum of ten pounds Also I give and bequeath to my
grandson Joseph Collins the sum of five pounds Also I give and
bequeath to my grand daughter Elizabeth Collins the sum of five
pounds Also I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Seary
the sum of five pounds Also I give and bequeath to my daughter
Ruth Andrews the sum of five pounds and I give and bequeath to
my daughter Abiah Castle the sum of five pounds All which
legacies I direct shall be paid by my executors within six
months next after my decease Also I give and bequeath to my son
Timothy Townsend all the rest and residue of my personal Estate
Stock of Cattle Implements in Husbandry Household Goods and
furniture of every kind Brewing utensils linen and plate to and
for his own use and benefit And lastly I hereby nominate
constitute and appoint John Higgins of Clanfield Gentleman and
my brother John Townsend of Coat Great House joint Executors of
this my Will hereby revoking all former and other Wills by me at
any time heretofore made In Witness whereof I have to this my
last Will and Testament set my hand and seal this third day of
May one thousand eight hundred and fifteen
