This is the last Will and Testament of me
William Sturdy of Romford in the County of Essex Stone Mason
ffirst I will and direct that my just debts and ffuneral
Expences and the Charges of proving this my Will be fully Paid
and Satisfied and Whereas I am Possessed of the Sum of three
hundred Pounds four Per Cent Annuities Standing in my Own Name
in the books of the Bank of England I give and bequeath the same
with all other my Estate and Effects of every Kind and Sort
whatsoever unto my Dear Wife Elizabeth Sturdy and my Son William
Robert Sturdy upon the Several uses and trusts following (that
is to say) In trust for my dear Wife to have the use of my Goods
Plate And Household ffurniture and to Receive and take the
Interest and Dividends of my Stock for her Own Use for and
During the Term of her Natural Life I further Will and direct to
my Son William Robert Sturdy the Mason’s shop and Stock and
Tools thereto belonging upon Condition that he Pay twenty Pounds
per Year to my Dear Wife Elizabeth Sturdy as Long as she lives I
also will and direct that after my Wife Elizabeth’s decease that
my daughter ffrances Sturdy Receive the Interest of One hundred
and fifty Pounds Part of the before mentioned Stock in the ffour
Per Cents During her Natural Life and then to go to my Son
William Robert Sturdy I also Will to my Daughter ffrances Sturdy
my Iron Bed stead and ffurniture thereto belonging I also will
and direct unto my Son William Robert Sturdy all other my Estate
and Effects whatsoever remaining and that after my daughter
ffrances Sturdy’s Decease I will unto my Son William Robert
Sturdy the One hundred and fifty Pounds in the four Per Cent
Annuities Or his heirs and I do hereby nominate Constitute and
Appoint my said Dear Wife Elizabeth Sturdy and my Son William
Robert Sturdy Joint Executors of this my last Will and Testament
hereby making all former Will or Wills by me at any time
heretofore made In Witness whereof I Have hereunto set my hand
and Seal this twenty second Day of December One thousand Seven
hundred and Ninety Eight _ William Sturdy
