The Last Will and
Testament of John Steele
of South Milton in the County of Devon made this second day of
April One thousand seven hundred and Eighty Eight ffirst I will
and direct that all my Just debts and ffuneral charges be first
paid and discharged and concerning my estate Goods and Chattels
I give and dispose of the same in the following manner that is
to say unto my two daughters Mary Tucker and Elizabeth Moore all
those tenement houses mentioned Cornislies Tenement Lowares
Tenement Storpolloy and Troudswill Park for their Sole and
separate use as if they had no at husbands to be divided equally
between them Also I give unto my Daughter Sarah Steele two
Hundred pounds all the rest and residue of my Goods and Chattels
and Testamentary Estates whatsoever I give and bequeathe unto
Elizabeth Steele my Wife whom I nominate and appoint hole and
Sole Executrix of this my last will and testament hereby
revoking and making void all former wills by me made In witness
whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year
first above written Signed sealed published and declared by
the said John Steele the Testator as and for his last will and
testament in the presence of us John Steele

This Will
was proved at London on the fourth
day of February in the year of our Lord One thousand seven
hundred and ninety one before the right honourable Sir William
…….Doctor of Laws and …. Keeper or Commissary of the prerogative
Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the Oath of
Elizabeth Steele Widow the relict of the deceased and Sole
Executrix named in the said Will to whom Admon was granted of
all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said
deceased having been first sworn by commission to administer
