The Will of Thomas Stanley

 

In the Name of God Amen I Thomas Stanley of Liscard in the Parish of Wallezey in the County of Chester Yeoman do make and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner following First I bequeath my Soul into the Hands of Almighty God hoping and believing a remission of my sins, by the merits and mediation of Jesus Christ and my body I commit to the ground to be buried at the discretion of my Executor herein after named_ And my worldly Estate I give and devise as follows; First, I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Jane Dean wife of John Dean of Liscard aforesaid all the money which I shall die possessed of at Interest or otherwise, and also my bedding and bed clothes and the one half of my Goods and Chattles to be divided at the discretion of my Executors herein after named And also I give and devise unto my said Daughter Jane Dean in Consideration of her constant dutifulness to me the Messuage and Garden where my son Gerard now lives and also one Croft in the little Town field situate lying and being in the township of Liscard aforesaid. Also I give and bequeath unto my Grandson Thomas Dean son of the aforesaid John and Jane Dean all my right little term and interest in one House situate in Rosemary Lane in Liverpool in the County of Lancaster. And finally; all the rest residue and remainder of all my Estate and Effects not herein before otherwise effectually disposed of (after payment of my just debts legacies and funeral expences and other charges and deductions aforesaid) I give devise and bequeath unto my son Gerard Stanley. And I hereby appoint George Briggs Clerk Rector of Wallezey  and Richard Hooton of Caldy in the parish of West Kirby and County of Chester Farmer Executors of this my last will and testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal the fourth Day of May in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty four The mark of Thomas Stanley
