The Will of Marjorie Sparke

 

In the name of God Amen the three and twentieth day of Aprill 1637 and in thirteene yearse of the raigne of our most gratious Soveraigne lord Charles by grace of God king of England Scotland France and Ireland defender of the faith ……………. I Marjorie SPARKE of Eastham in the county of Chester Widow being sicke of body yet of good and perfect memory god be praysed doe make and ordaine this my last will and testament in manner and forme following.  First I commend my soule into the hands of god my maker hopeing …………..  throught the only merrit of Jesus Christ my Saviour to be made partaker of life outlasting. And I commend my bodie to the earth where of it is made and to be buried in Eastham Church.

Item I give and bequeath unto my sonne Edward SPARKE one hundred pounds memorandum that there was of this hundred pounds to Edward SPARKE left by Robart SPARKE twenty nobles  ……… deceased which the said Thomas SPARKE must pay and he hath well and truly payd it unto Marjory SPARKE his mother twenty nobles and [PAGE TORN] payd Edward SPARKE doe paye that then this shall be … twenty nobles of his hundred [PAGE TORN]

Ite I have layd out fourteene ………… about the grounds of William SPARKE of Hooton my sonne and [PAGE TORN] dye now I give to him all that is behind

Ite I give and bequeath to Ann IIGGIN thirteen pounds thirteen shillings and foure pennies

Ite I give & bequeath to Margret SPARKE my sonnes John daughter three pounds

Ite I give & bequeath to my sonne Williams SPARKE’s children in Hooton thirty shillings every one tenne shillings apeece

Ite I give and bequeath unto William EDMONDSON’s children in Little Sutton thirtie shillings every one tenne shillings apeece

Ite I give and bequeath to Thomas and Ann SPARKE my sonne’s John children either of them thirteen shillings and four pennies apeece

Ite I leave to Thomas SPARKE all my ……………. goods both moveable and non moveable and all ………. to leave …………. ………… horses two kine two ….hease ………….. ffoote ………. and all o things belonging in there unto and abound …….. and ar[oun]d and a ……. and all things belonging to husbandry

Ite I give and bequeath unto John SPARKE the son of John SPARKE three shillings foure pennies

Ite I give to Richard IGGIN tenne shillings

Ite I give and bequeath to my sonne John SPARKE fifty shillings but it shall not be delivered into his hand but the executors shall be p…… upon some things for him

Ite I give and bequeath to my sonne George SPARKE foure pounds

Ite I give and bequeath to John SPARKE my sonne Thomas’s sonne tenne shillings

Ite I give and bequeath to all my god children ……… apeece

Ite I leave to buy dole bread fourtie shillings

Ite I leave to be …………. on friends and neigbors forty shillings

Ite I leave to the ….gers five shillings

Ite I leave and bequeath to Katherine WELSHMAN three shillings foure pennies

Ite I give and bequeath to my sonne Henrie SPARKE twenty shillings

Ite I give and bequeath to my servant Jane HILL five shillings

Ite I leave to my  sonne Thomas SPARKE ten shillings

Ite I leave to Alise EDMONDSON my best gowne and best petticoate

Ite I give to Elizabeth SPARKE my sonne William’s wife my blew petticote and medly wastecoate

Ite I give to Jane HILL my old hose & s……

Ite I leave to Ann IGGIN and Margret my sonne John’s  daughter all the remainder of my old ………. to their one use

Ite I leave to buy a grave stone for me shix shillings eight pennies

Ite my will and mind is that when mine executors and administrators have discharged them selves and [PAGE TORN] ……….. debts su….. payments & demands whatsoever then the remander of my goods to be devided [PAGE TORN] between William Edward George & Hennery SPARKE my sonnes and Ann IGGIN equally devided

Ite I leave to Jane SPARKE the daughter of John SPARKE the younger the some shix shillings and eight pennies.

And I make Thomas SPARKE and Henery SPARKE my sonnes my executors of my last will and Testament. And I make William SPARKE and William EDMONSON supervisors thereof. In Witness hereof I have put unto my hand and seale the day and year first above written.

Ite John HEY owes me two shillings for two cheeses

Ite Thomas WHITEHEAD owes me three shillings four pennies and Robart CARRINGTON

Ite Thomas HEGSHON owes me eleven shillings five pennies to be pay[e]d at midsomer

Ite Robert HEAY owes me two shillings eight pennies

Ite Robart CARRINGTON owes me three shillings four pennies for John [PAGE TORN]

Ite John FRANCES owes me five shillings

Ite Jane TAYLOR of Brighton owes me five poundes

Ite Hennery MEDDOWES owes me ten shillings which is inpute and John PILLKENTON fourty
