In the Name of God Amen I John SPARKE
of Eastham in the Countie of Chester Husbandman being sick and weake
in body but of p[er]fect minde and memory, praysed be God, doe
therefore make this my last will and testam[en]t in writing, first I
re[com]mend my soul into the hands of Almightie God my creator,
hopeing by the merits of [page torn] Jesus Christ and his bitter
passion to have the full p[ar]don and remission of all my sins, and
my [b]ody to be decently buryed in Eastham Church-yard, and touching
that temporall estate, w[hi]ch it hath pleased God to bless me with
I leave and bequeath the same as followeth (that is to say) first I
leave that my funerall expenses and all my debts be pay[e]d out of
my goods and the surplusage thereof (if any thing doe remayne) to be
equally divided between my daughter Katherine and my daughter
Marie. And also I leave and my will and mynde is that the executor
of this my last will and testam[en]t, shall sell my messuages or
tenem[en]ts, lands and [page torn] the appurtenture in Eastham
aforesaid and all houses Buildings and lands for and during the
terme of six yeares after my decease, if the terme and estate of my
lease soe long continues, without impeach[en]t of
ast to pay the
residue of my debts, yf it shall soe happen my goods fall short to
discharge the same. And also to pay my daughter Abigail the sume of
ffifteene pounds of lawfull English money for her portion or childes
part. And all the rest and residue of the rents, and the yssues and
profits of my said Messuage or tenem[en]t lands and premises, and
the money thereof made during the said terme of six yeares, I leave
and bequeath to my daughter Katherine and my daughter Marie to be
equally divided betweene them. And I also leave and it is my will
and mynde that all and only the said por[t]ions of all and only my
said three daughters be pay[e]d yearly and only years during the
said terme of six yeares soe, and in such apportionall manner that
so soon as may be to the Judgem[en]t of my Executor and may be
pay[e]d as soone as another. Alsoe I leave and my mynde is that
ymediately from and after the end and expirat[i]on of the said terme
of [page torn] years the eldest sonne of my daughter Jane w[hi]ch
shall be then living and his assignes shall have and enjoy all my
said messuages or tenem[en]t lands and premises with thappurtenure
for and during the terme of my lease and all my right, title, clayme
and interest of in and to the same, together with my Indenture of
lease made thereof, And for want of yssue male of the body of my
said daughter Jane, living at the end of the said terme of six
years, I leave and give the said messuage or tenem[en]ts, lands and
premisses with theappurtenure to the eldest daughter of my said
daughter Jane w[hi]ch shall be then living and her assignes during
all the termes of my said lease and all my right, clayme and
interest of, in, and to the same, together with my said Lease made
thereof Provyded alwayes, and it is my will and mynde An I leave
that house called Hollands House adjoyning to my dwelling house and
the Building belonging to it to my daughter Marie, only for soe long
time as she shall keep herselfe sole and unmarryed, she leaving the
same all
in sufficient repayer. And of this my last will and
testam[en]t, revoking all and singular and ordaine my very loveing
friend Richard SPANN of Bromborough in the Countie of Chester yeoman
sole Executor, hopeing that he will soe the same executed and
p[er]formed according to the best confidense reposed in him,
deducting his lawfull and honest charges out of the rent and
of
my lande aforesaid. In witness whereof, I have hereunto sett my
hand and seal and publishe the same, for my last will and
testam[en]t this twentie seventh day of May in the thertyeth year of
the raigne of our Souvraigne Lor Charles the Second by the grace of
God, King of England, Scotland, ffrance and Ireland, Defender of the
faith
