The Will of John Sorrall

 

This is to Certify to all to whom it may apply that I John Sorrall of Plaistow in the Parish of West Ham in the County of Essex Linen Draper being of sound mind and disposing memory do hereby make this my last Will and Testament Namely after my funeral expences and just debts including ninety five pounds and three per cent per annum interest on the same due to my father Mr Joseph Sorrell of Bow Middlesex Print Cutter and for which ninety five pounds and interest as above he the above named Mr Joseph Sorrell holds an agreement I say after the above named debts have all been paid I give and bequeath my dearly beloved Wife Martha Sorrell all the cash and Effects whatsoever I may be possessed of at the time of my decease excepting and deducting as follows I give and bequeath to the above named Mr Joseph Sorrell seven pounds ten shillings in cash my Drawing Box and my drawing utensils and all my wearing apparel I give to my Mother Sophia Sorrell the Wife of the above named Mr Joseph Sorrell seven pounds ten shillings in cash and a certain….sheet which has been in her family for many years I give to my brother Joseph Wadmore Sorrell five pounds in cash and the first three volumes of Pargeters Encyclopedia I give to my sister Sophia Sorrell five pounds in cash and five volumes together of the …….Instructor and the ……..I give to my brother William Sorrell five pounds in cash and my Writing Desk and the fourth volume of Pargeters Encyclopedia I give to my brother Thomas Robert Sorrall five pounds in cash and the fifth sixth and seventh volumes of Pargeters Encyclopedia I give to my sister Elizabeth Sorrell five pounds in Cash and six volumes of the Youths Magazine I give to my sister Ann Sorrell five pounds in Cash and six volumes of the Cottage Magazine I give to my brother George Sorrell five pounds in cash and the eighth ninth and tenth Volumes of Pargeters Encyclopedia I appoint Mr James Rudall of Plaistow aforesaid and Mr John David Wadmore of West Ham both in the County of Essex to be my Executors witness my hand and seal this eighteenth day of December in the year one thousand eight hundred and forty five John Sorrell
