This is the last Will and Testament of
Walter Smith of the Parish of Portsea in the County of
Southampton Gardener made when Weak in Body, but of a Sound and
perfect mind & Memory, whereby I dispose of such worldly Estate
and Effects whereby it hath pleased God to bless me as followeth,
that is to say I give to my Loving Wife Elizabeth Smith, for and
during her natural life, three Messuages, Tenements or Dwelling
houses with all and every their Appurtenances Situate, Lying,
and being in College Street, in the Parish of Portsea aforesaid,
and now in the Occupations of Mr Lazarus, Mr Wrigld & Mr
Paddeson. Also I give my said Wife for and during her natural
Life, a Messuage, Tenement or Dwelling house, with the
Appurtenances thereunto belonging, Situate in College Lane in
the Parish of Portsea aforesaid, and also a Small Messuage or
Tenement adjoining to the Tenement, now in the occupation of Mr
Lazarus above mentioned. And its my Will, that after my Wifes
Decease, all the above mentioned Tenements shall be equally the
Property of my Five Children, Richard Smith, Elizabeth Smith,
Robert Smith, William Smith, and George Smith, their Heirs &
Assigns forever to have equal share & share alike. And all the
rest, residue & remainder of my Effects whatsoever belonging
unto me I Give to my said Wife and I do hereby Constitute and
Ordain her my sd Wife sole Executrix of this my last Will In
Witness whereof the said Testator hath hereunto Set his Hand &
Seal this first Day of November One thousand Seven hundred and
Seventy Three
