The Will of Lydia Smith

 

This is the last Will and Testament of me Lydia Smith of Ensham in the County of Oxford widow (that is to say) I give and devise to my son James Smith All those my three cottages or Tenements with the Gardens and Appurtenances to the same belonging now in the occupations of Richard Floyd, William Maycock and Richard Hutt And to all that Close or Orchard now in the occupation of my said son James situate and being in Ensham aforesaid All which said premises are copyhold of Inheritance of the Manor of Ensham and have been surrendered to the use of my last Will To Hold the same to my said Son James Smith and his Heirs forever according to the Custom of the said Manor chargeable nevertheless and I hereby charge the same with the payment of the Sum of Thirty Five Pounds to my Daughter Lydia Smith - the Sum of Thirty Five Pounds to my Son William - the sum of Thirty Five Pounds to my son Jeremiah - the sum of Thirty five pounds to my daughter Mary the Wife of Thomas Wall and the sum of Thirty five Pounds to my Daughter Elizabeth Giles Widow to be paid to them respectively at the end of one Year next after my decease - without Interest for the same in the meantime And the sum of Seventy Pounds to be equally divided between Mary the daughter of my late son John Smith and Samuel, Mary Anne, James, William. George and Martha the sons and daughters of my late Daughter Christian the Wife of Soloman Wiggins To be paid to them respectively as they shall attain their respective ages of Twenty one years with Interest in the mean time - Also I give to my said Daughter Mary the Sum of Twenty Pounds - To my said Daughter Elizabeth the Sum of Twenty Pounds To my said Daughter Lydia the Sum of Twenty Pounds And to my said Son James the Sum of Twenty Pounds to be paid to them respectively by and out of the Sum of Eighty Pounds due and owing to me from my said son James, within one year after my decease - Also I give and bequeath to my said Daughter Lydia half a dozen silver tea spoons and my Silver Tea Tongs Also I give to my said daughters Mary Wall and Elizabeth Giles One Silver Table Spoon each Also I give my Cloathes Wearing Apparel and Linen unto and amongst my said three Daughters Lydia Smith Mary Wall and Elizabeth Giles equally All the rest and residue of my Goods Chattells and Effects (Subject to the payment of my just debts funeral expences and the Charges proving this my Will) I give and bequeath to my said Daughter Lydia And do hereby appoint my said Son James Executor of this my last Will and Testament and do revoke all former Wills by me made In Witness whereof I the said Testatrix Lydia Smith have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand and seal the thirtieth day of December in the Year of Our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Fifteen
