In the name of God Amen ffirst day of ffebruary Anno Dm One Thousand Six hundred eighty one I ffrancis Smith late of Hurst in the County of Berks but now of the parish of St Clement Danes in the County of Middx being bruised and sicke in Body but of perfect mind and disposingmemory praised be God for the same Doe make and ordeyne this my last Will and Testament And in the ffirst place I Commend my Soule to Almighty God my Creator hopeing through the meritts death and passion of my blessedSaviour and Redeemer Jesus Christ to have remission of all my sinne and to enjoy eternall rest and happynesses with his elect and my body to bee buried in the parish Church of St Dunstan in the West London where my Relations lye And as for the estate wherewth God hath blessed me in this world my will is That the same bee disposed of and I doe accordingly dispose thereof as followeth (that is to say) I give and bequeath unto Gilbert North (my wicked and most ungrateful sonne in Law) the sume of Sixpence only And I give devise and bequeath unto my Neice Sibilla Baker (the wife of Robert Baker Chirurgeon)all my estate and estates reall and personall of what nature kind or Quality (not herein and hereby before bequeathed) with and upon Condition that shee doe prosecute James Jervis and Elizabeth his wife Christopher Markham and others who broke into my Chamber to arrest mee upon a Common process and did then beate drag bruise and wound mee Soe that I am Sick and languish in dispaire of my life And also pay my just debts and ffunerall expences And I doe hereby ordeyne and appoint the said Sibilla Baker sole Executrix of this my last Will And doe hereby revoke all former and other Wills by mee heretofore made Declaring this to be my only last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have sett my hand and seale the day and yeare first above written ffra: Smith
