The Will of Samuel Slaymaker

 

In the Name of God Amen I Samuel Slaymaker of Stratford Le Bow in the Parish of West Ham in the County of Essex Gentleman being weak in body but of sound mind and memory do make and declare this to be my last will and Testament in manner following ffirst I commit my soul to God who gave it me my body to the Earth to be decently buried according to the discretion of my Executors hereinafter named in the Church Yard of Stepney under the stone where my mother was buried which is the stone where my great Aunt Dorothy Burford near the Dwaff Wall by the Rose and Crown Item I will and desire that all my just debts together with the charges and expences of my ffuneral be first paid and satisfied Item I give and bequeath to my neice Elizabeth Plampin all my plate as well gold as silver and also the sum of ten pounds Item I give and bequeath to Joseph Bish the sum of fifty pounds but the sum of sixteen pounds which he now stands indebted to me to be taken and accepted as part thereof and I also give and bequeath to the said Joseph Bish all my household goods and implements of household of what nature or kind soever and all my wearing apparel as well Linnen as Woollen Item I give devise and bequeath all the rest residue and remainder of my estate as well real as personal to my nephews Jeremiah Slaymaker James Slaymaker and Samuel Plampin son of my said neice Elizabeth Plampin and their heirs executors administrators and assigns to be equally divided between them share and share alike and as touching and concerning my said freehold Estate to take as tenants in common and not as joint tenants And I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said Niece Elizabeth Plampin and the said Joseph Bish joint Executors of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former Wills by me made declaring this only to be my last Will In Witness whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament sett my hand and seal this first day of November in the Year of our Lord one Thousand seven Hundred and fifty two Samuel Slaymaker
