In the Name of God Amen this
is the last Will and Testament of me FRANCIS SIMPSON one of the
Grooms of the Stables of his Royal highness the prince of Wales as
followeth viz. first and principally I resign my Soul to almighty
God my Creator and to his Mercy and Salvation through the Merits of
my blessed Saviour Jesus Christ my body I desire may be decently
interred according to the discretion of my Executors hereafter named
and as for such worldly substance as it hath pleased God to bless me
with I give and Dispose thereof as followeth that is to say I give
to my friends LAMBERT STALT one of the Grooms of the Stable to his
said Royall Highness and THOMAS BRIDGE of the parish of St Martin in
the Fields in the County of Middlesex Gent for their trouble and
care in the execution of this my will the summe of £5 a piece.
Item I give and bequeath unto
my son FRANCIS SIMPSON all the rest and residue of my ready money
Goods Chattles rights Credits and Estate whatsoever to be paid to
and invested in him at his attaining the age of one and twenty years
and my Will is that in the mean time my Executors do expend and
disburse so much thereof as they shall think fit for the maintenance
Education and provision of my said son in putting him out apprentice
or otherwise and for the better enabling them to do the same my will
is that they imploy what I have left my said son at Interest on such
securitye as they shall Judge sufficient and in Case my said son
shall happen to dye before he shall have attained the said age of
one and twenty years and without leaving Issue of his body then I
give and bequeath what I have left and intended for my said son unto
the son and daughter of my late Sister ELIZABETH TESDALE deceased
equally to be divided between them or the whole to the survivor of
them in case either of them shall be then deceased and I commit the
Tuition and Guardianship of my said son unto the said LAMBERT STALT
and THOMAS BRIDGE whom I make joynt Executors in trust of this my
will and I desire that they may reimburse and detain to themselves
all their necessary Coste and Charges to be sustained in and about
the execution of this my Will and that they my said Executors shall
not be answerable the one for the other nor for the acts or defaults
of the other not for the loss of any of the said Trust Estate
happening without their willfull default and lastly I do hereby
revoke and make void all former and other wills by me made In
witness whereof I have here unto set my hand and seal the 10
November Anno Domini 1720 and in the 6th year of the
Reign of Our Sovereign Lord George King of Great Britain
