The Will of John Sidgier

 

In the Name of God Amen I John Sidgier the Elder of Ditton in the County of Kent being Indisposed in Body but of Sound and Perfect Mind and Memory Praised be Almighty God for the same do this Present fourth Day of ffebruary in the year of our Lord Christ One thousand seven Hundred and forty eight make and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner and fform following that is to say first and Principally I resign my Soul into the Hands of Almighty God my Creator and my Body to the Earth to be decently buried by and at the Discretion of my Executor hereinafter named and as for my Worldly Goods and Estate which it hath Pleased God to bless me with I give and dispose as followeth Imprimis I give and bequeath to my Son John Sidgier the Sum of one Hundred Pounds of lawful Money to be Paid to him as follows that is to say ffifty Pounds to be Paid to him within one Year next after my Decease and the other ffifty Pounds to be Paid to him within Two Years next after my Decease by my Executor Item I give and bequeath to my Son Richard Sidgier the Sum of Ten Pounds of like lawful Money Item I also give and bequeath to my Son ffrancis Sidgier the Sum of Twenty Pounds of like lawful Money Item I give and bequeath to my son in Law Patrick Guy the Sum of thirty Pounds of like lawful Money Item I give and bequeath to my son Joseph Sidgier of forty Pounds of like lawful Money Item I give and bequeath to my Daughter Deborah the Sum of ffifty Pounds of like lawful Money and it is my Will that the said Legacys shall be paid by my Executor within one year next after my decease Lastly all the residue of my ready Money Securities for Money Linen Household Goods and every other my Personal Estate of what nature or kind soever my Just Debts Legacies and ffuneral Expences being first Duly Paid and discharged I give and bequeath to my son James Sidgier and I do hereby nominate and appoint him the said James Sidgier full and sole Executor of this my last Will hereby revoking all former Wills I declare this Present Writing in this one Sheet of Paper contained to be my last Will and Testament In Witness where of I have hereunto set my hand and seal the Day and Year first above
