kitchen gardener to His Majesty’s Kitchen of Richmond Surrey 1788
In the Name of God Amen I JOHN
SHUTTLEWORTH of Richmond in the County of Surry working Kitchen
Gardener to His Majesty’s Kitchen at Richmond aforesaid being weak
in Body yet of sound mind memory and understanding thanks be to God
for it do therefore make publish and declare this my last will and
testament in manner and form following That is to say, I first and
principally commend my soul to God my Creator and my Body to the
Earth to be decently and frugally interred at the discretion of my
Executrix and Executors hereafter named and as to my worldy or
effects wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me and I die
possessed of I dispose as followeth namely that after all my Just
debts and Funeral expences be fully paid and discharged I give
devise and bequeath unto my loving wife ALICE SHUTTLEWORTH all and
singular my Effects Goods Chattels and Personal estate Household
Goods and Furniture Linen Plate China and wearing Apparel together
with every other article or articles of what nature or kind soever
my property at the time of my decease unto her my said wife ANN [it
says Ann, should be Alice ?] SHUTTLEWORTH her heirs and assigns for
ever save and except as followeth namely I devise and bequeath unto
JOHN NOLTON of the parish of Chiswick farmer and gardener and
MICHAEL MILLIKEN of Richmond aforesaid Gardener to His Majesty One
Guinea to each of them for a ring and Lastly her my said wife ALICE
SHUTTLEWORTH and the aforesaid JOHN NOLTON and MICHAEL MILLIKEN I
here nominate constitute and appoint Joint Executrix and Executors
of this my last will and Testament. In witness whereof I have
hereunto set my hand and seal this 16 February 1788. John

This will was proved at London
10 April 1788 by the oath of Elizabeth Shuttleworth widow the relict
of the deceased and John Knowlton otherwise Nolton two of the
executors named in the said will to whom administration was granted
