In the name of God Amen I Richard Sephton of
the parish of Ormskirk and Township of Scarisbrick in the county of
Lancaster, farmer, being of sound mind and memory, thanks to the
Almighty, do make this my last Will and Testament, and give and
bequeath my worldly property in the following manner. First I order
and direct all my just debts & funeral expenses to be paid off, and
discharged by my Executors to be hereafter named as soon as
conveniently may be after my decease with the payment of which I
charge my personal Estate, I give and bequeath to my wife Isabella
Sephton, the sum of one shilling, I also give whatever else I may
die possessed of unto my son Luke, and to my daughters Ellen, Mary
and Fanny. Also to the respective issue of my late sons Edward,
Richard, John and daughter Ann, deceased. The children of each of
the deceased is to receive the part of their late parent to be put
out to interest by my Executors, and paid by them together with the
interest, when they each come to the age of 21 years-
And I hereby nominate, constitute and appoint my nephew John Heaton,
my son Luke Sephton and George Heaton Executors to this my Will and
I hereby revoke all former will and wills herebefore made and
declare this alone to be my last Will and Testament. In witness
whereof I the said Testator have hereto set my hand and seal this 6th
day of November 1823

said Richard Sephton the Testator, as, and for, his last Will and
Testament, in the presence of who, I his presence, at his request,
and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names
as Witnesses

The eight day of June 1826
John Heaton, one of the executors in this will named was sworn in
common form (power being reserved to Luke Sephton and George Heaton
the other Executors, therein also named, to take upon them the
execution of the said will when they shall lawfully request the
same) and he further made oath that the personal Estate and Effects
of the Testator within the diocese of Chester were under the value
of twenty five pounds before me
