This is the last will and testament of me MARY
SEAVERS of Thirsk in the County of York widow. First I give and
devise unto my grandson THOMAS SEAVERS all the share right title and
interest which I have of into or out of the messuage lands and
tenements situate in the township of Barton in the County of York
now in the possession of ROBERT GOLDSBROUGH To hold to my said
grandson THOMAS his heirs and assigns for ever. Item I give and
bequeath to my grandson RICHARD SEAVERS £40. Also I give and
bequeath to my granddaughter ANN £40 also to my granddaughter MARY
£40 to be paid to them within six months next from my decease and I
do hereby charge and make chargeable the said messuage and lands and
tenements with the payments of the said legacies. Item I give and
bequeath to my granddaughter MARY £4 4s. I give and bequeath to all
my great grandchldren £1 1s a piece Also I give and bequeath to my
great grandchildren WILLIAM and FRANCES son and daughter of my
grandson THOMAS £10 a piece also to my great grandchldren JOHN and
MARY £10 a piece. It is my mind and desire that my executor shall
place the last mentioned legacies given to my great grandchildren
out at interest ... and interest to be paid to my great
grandchildren and the principal and interest to be paid to them when
they shall respectively attain 21 years ... I give and bequeath unto
my daughter in law FRANCES SEAVERS and my grandchildren SARAH the
wife of THOMAS SEAVERS ANN the wife of RICHARD SEAVERS and my
grandchildren ANN and MARY SEAVERS daughters of ym son JOSEPH
SEAVERS all my wearing apparel and linen to be divided amongst them
in such shares and proportions as my executors shall think most
advisable and fit and I give and bequeath to my grandson RICHARD all
that my bed and beding bedstead with checked hangings I give to my
granddaughter ANN my best chest of drawers also I give my oaken
chest of drawers to my granddaughter MARY also the other chest of
drawers to my grandson RICHARD I give and bequeath my silver tankard
to my son JOSEPH for and during his life and after his decease I
give and bequeath the same to my grandson THOMAS . Also I give and
bequeath to my granddaughter ANN my two best silver tablespoons, two
silver salts and half a dozen of my best teaspoons. I give and
bequeath to my granddaughter MARY SEAVERS half a dozen teaspoons ,
two silver table spoons marked with letters T s M . Also I give to
my grandson RICHARD two silver table spoons as to all the rest and
residue of my goods and chattles and personal estate whatsoever and
wheresoever ... after the payment of my debts and legacies and
funeral expences I give and bequeath the same to my son JOSEPH
..... and I do appoint him sole executor.... In witness whereof I
have hereto set my hand and seal this 9 February 1780 . Witnesses
