The Will of George Searley

 

The last Will and Testament of me George Searley of Povington Dorset Yeoman made this fifth day of May 1837 In the first place I appoint my dear Wife Ann Searley to be my sole Executrix to this my said Will I request my Executrix to pay all my just debts and funeral expences In the first place I give all the Interest in the Estate I now live on left by my late Uncle Harry Willshire of Povington aforesaid unto my Wife subject to certain payments thereon I further give unto my wife all my live and dead Stock on the Estate also all my Goods Chattels ffurniture Plate china wareing apparel and also all monies and security for monies with the interest due thereon in my said dwelling house at the time of my decease for her my said Wife to enjoy the Interest only for her natural life and at her decease I give the aforesaid live and dead Stock Goods and Chattels ffurniture pate China wearing apparel and all monies and security for monies  that I die poss’st of unto my only daughter Mary Cooper wife of John Cooper  of Povington aforesaid for her own use and benefit and at her own disposal and her receipt alone to be a full discharge but subject to certain payments thereon as below mentioned and to be paid as directed that is to say I give ten pounds to my nephew Charles Richards now residing at Pool within three months after my wife’s decease The above Charles Richards is ment the Boy which lately lived with me I declare this to be my last will and testament which have read to me and is agreeable to my wish the same I have made my Cross and made my seal in the presence of those three witnesses _ The Mark of X George Searley Witness this fifth day of May 1837 _ Harry Hammond _ Jos Lampard _ John Tuck Junr   Proved at London 30 March 1842   PCC Prob11/1960
