first part is in Latin,
binding Robert
Satterthwaite and Thomas
Wilson in £100, dated 8
October 1670
The second part, in
English, follows: The
condition of this
obligation is such that
if the above bounden
Robert Satterthwaite in
right of and to the use
of Agnes his wife do
well and truly
administer all and
singular the goods,
rights and credits which
late were or did belong
unto John Skale late of
Whayteshead his late
father-in-law, deceased,
viz: do pay all his
debts, so far as the
goods extend or the law
binds; and shall bring
and exhibit into court a
true and perfect
inventory of all the
goods of the said
deceased; and shall
likewise give a true and
perfect account of all
his acting in the
premises; and shall
stand to and abide by
the court’s order
concerning the
distribution of the
over-plus, if any be;
and at all times shall
well and sufficiently
save, defend and keep
harmless and indemnified
the said commissary and
all his officers for
granting of the
administration; and
shall give further and
better security to the
said commissary
whensoever required;
then this obligation to
be void, or otherwise to
be in force.
