The Will of Judith Sayer

 

 In the name of God Amen I Judith Sayer of the parish of Skelton in the County of York widow being of sound and perfect disposing mind and memory praised to almighty God for the same do make and constitue this my last will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say I hereby give and devise and bequesth unto my son Thomas Sayer the sum of four pounds to be paid to him at the end of twelve months next after my decease and I also hereby devise and bequeaath unto my son George Sayer the sum of forty pounds to be paid to him at the end of twelve months next after my decease.  I also hereby give devise and bequeath unto my sons James Sayer and Anthony Sayer and daughter Mary Sayer the sum of twenty pounds upon trust ***** to *** the same out at an interest upon the best security or securities that can or may be had or gotton ****** to pay the same from time to time as the same shall be  **** unto the hands of my daughter Susannah Seaton or apply the same as she shall direct and if it should happen that the interest of the said sum of twenty pounds should not amount to the sum of twenty shillings yearly and every year during the *** then I shall hereby order and direct my said two sons James Sayer and Anthony Sayer and my daughter MarySsayer to make up the deficiencies equally amongst them which shall be awanting of the said sum of twenty shillings as aforesaid and her receipt shall be a sufficient discharge for the sums as her husband shall not **** therewith not have any disposing power thereof nor shall the same be liable to his debts or ***** and after the death of my said daughter Susannah Seaton upon trust to pay and divide the said principal sum of twenty pounds between my two grandchildren, children of my said daughter Susannah Seaton. I also hereby give devise and bequeath unto my grandaughter Sarah Duck the sum of twenty pounds to be paid to her at the end of twelve months next after my decease.  I also hereby give devise and bequeath unto my two sons James Sayer and Anthony Sayer and my said daughter Mary Sayer all and every the rest residue and remainder of my personal estate whatsoever, they paying **** my debts and funeral expenses to be equally divided amongst them by share and share alike and I do hereby constitute nominate and appoint my said sons James Sayer and Anthony sayer and daughter Mary Sayer joint testators of this my last will and testament.  In witness thereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this seventeenth of November in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty two.  The mark of Judith Sayer, signed sealed published and declared by the said Judith Sayer the testatrix as and for her last will and testament in the presence of us who have subscribed and set our names as witnesses in her presence and in the presence of each other, Robert Thompson, the mark of Philip Slater.  seal
