This is the last will and testament of me
Bartholomew Sayer of Scruton in the County of York Farmer made the
eighth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight
hundred and ten. I give and devise unto Bartholomew Little the son
of Samuel Little of Scruton aforesaid Butler all my Lands and
tenements situated at Scruton aforesaid and to his heirs and assigns
for ever. And I give unto the said Bartholomew Little all my
farming stock and husbandry utensils of what nature and kind soever
and whensoever. I give all my household furniture beds and bedding
(except one feather bed and bedding which I give to my housekeeper
Elizabeth Pearson), plate linen and china unto my nephew Thomas weal
of Hurworth upon Tees in the County of Durham farmer subject to the
payment of my just debts my funeral expenses and the expenses of
proving and registering this my will or any codicil or codicils
thereto. I give and devise all my lands and tenements situate at
Kirby Fleetham in the said county of York unto the said Samuel
Little his heirs and assigns for ever subject to the payment of an
annual sum of twenty pounds to my said nephew Thomas Weal by equal
half yearly payments for and during the term of his natural life,
and also subject to the payments of the annual sum of five pounds to
my said housekeeper Elizabeth Pearson by equal half yearly for and
during the term of her natural life, the first half yearly payments
of the said sums of twenty pounds and five pounds respectively to
begin and to be made at the end of six calendar months next after my
decease. I constitute and appoint the said Samuel Little sole
executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all
former wills by me at any time hereunto made. In witness whereof I
have hereunto set me hand and seal the day and year first above
written.

The writing contained on this sheet of paper
was signed and sealed by Bartholomew Sayer of Scruton in the County
of York Farmer and by him published and declared as and for his last
will and testament in the presence of us who as witnesses thereof
have hereunto subscribed our names in his presence at his request
and in the presence of each other.

Samuel Little the within named Executor and was duly sworn, that the
goods chattels and personal effects of the testator Bartholomew
Sayer at the time of his death did not in value amount to the sum of
five hundred pounds - before me Thomas Dockeray (?)- Surrogate.

`Bartholomew Sayer - his will registered 24th
June 1851 at 4 in the afternoon'.
`A Memorial of the probate of the last will
and testament of Bartholomew Sayer late of Scruton in the County of
York farmer bearing date on or about the eighth day of February one
thousand eight hundred and ten. Of and concerning all his lands and
tenements situated at Scruton aforesaid and Kirkby Fleetham in the
said County of York which the said Bartholemew Sayer died possessed
of which said will is witnessed by William Newsam of Scruton
aforesaid Clerk, Richard Metcalfe of Scruton aforesaid Farmer, and
William Raper Samson (?) of Bedale in the said County of York
Gentleman. This memorial is therefore desired to be registered
pursuant to the statute by me Samuel Little the heir at law of
Bartholomew Little deceased one of the devisees in the said will
mentioned. As witness my hand and seal this twenty fourth day of
June in the year of our Lord the thousand eight hundred and fifty
one.
