The Will of Anthony Sayer

 

 I Anthony Sayer of Ingleby in the parish of Arncliffe in Cleveland in the County of York, Yeoman, make this my last will and testament in manner following, that is to say, I give devise and bequeath unto my dear wife Elizabeth Sayer all my freehold estate at Ingleby under Arncliffe in the parish of Arncliffe aforesaid and now in my possession, her heirs executors, administrators and assigns forever.  Also I bequeath devise and bequeath unto my daughter Mary Cole four hundred pounds to be paid to her at the end of twelve months next after my decease out of my personal estate as far as it may amount to and the rest if any shall be wanting to be paid out of my freehold estate at Ingleby under Arncliffe  in the parish of Arncliffe aforesaid  so as her husband James Cole shall not  intermeddle with  therewith  nor have any disposing power  thereof nor shall  **** be liable to the ** or encumbrances but that the said Mary Cole shall ** the same out at interest  and receive the same as it shall **** apply it to her own sole use as she may think meet, and bequeath the said principal of four hundred pounds at her decease as she may think meet but if my said wife Elizabeth Sayer should happen to marry my wish is that all my freehold estate at Ingleby under Arncliffe in the Parish of Arncliffe aforesaid bequeathed to my wife Elizabeth Sayer that my daughter Mary Cole *** shall on the day of such marriage take possession of all my present estate at Ingleby under Arncliffe aforesaid bequeathed to my wife Elizabeth Sayer so as her husband James Cole shall not intermeddle therewith nor have any disposing power thereof but that the said Mary Cole shall let ********* this may become due and ***************************************she paying to my wife Elizabeth Sayer ten pounds ********************during the term of her natural life out of the said freehold estate, the first payment to be made at the end of twelve calendar months  next after such marriage  and possession taken of the aforesaid estate. If it should happen that no such marriage should take place then my will and ** is that my said wife Elizabeth Sayer should peaceably and quietly enjoy all my aforesaid personal estate during the term of her natural life  and bequeath the same at her decease as she shall think meet .  Also I give devise and bequeath unto my dear wife Elizabeth Sayer all and every the rest and residue  ***** my personal estate whatsoever *********** my just debts and funeral expenses , and I *** constitute and appoint my said wife Elizabeth sayer  sole executrix of this my said last will and testament thereby revoking all former********** heretofore made .  In witness thereof I hereto set my hand and seal this tenth day of December  in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and six.
