PS

The meaning of the word Stotte?

The Old English Dictionery gives various spellings of stot, stott, stotte, stoote, stot and stote.

From OE stot;

the root may be OTeut. stut.

stot- A young castrated ox, a steer. north.

- A heifer. north.

and Arnold Kellett in his "The Yorkshire Dictionary" has:

stot - a bullock.
