In the Name of God Amen the eighth day of August one thousand five hundred nynetie two,  I Robert Samford of the cittie of Bristol Merchant being sick in body but of perfect memory do make my last will and Testament in manner and forme.  First I give and commend my soule into the hand of Almightie God and my bodie to the earthe.

Item I do give my dwelling house with the implements and my Garden into Mary my wife during her life. And after her decease to my sonne John Samford

Item my house in Cornestreete wherein Mr Laurence dwelleth to John Samford (if he dwell in it) if not to one of his sisters for marriage being Mary

Item I do give my garden and house at Lasfordes Gate to my wife and after her decease to Thomas Samford her sonne

Item I do give to John Samford my sone twentie pounds in money.  All the rest of my goodes moveable and unmoveable not given nor bequeathed I do give and bequeath to Mary Samford my wife whome I make my sole executrix
