in the yeare of our Lorde god I Will[ia]
2. Saer of South Kilvington in the countie of
yorke yeoman sicke in bodie but of good and perfect
3. remembrance praised bee god do ordeine and
make this my last will and testament in manner and forme following
4. First and before all thing[e]s I give and
bequeath my soule to almightie god my maker and In Jesus Christ my
onelie
5. saviour and redeemer and my bodie to bee
buried in the Church Southlevington aforesayed. It[e]m I give and
6. bequeath my whole title and Interest of my
farme in Kilvington aforesayed unto John my sonne, in

The Latin endorsement,which followed the will
stated:
"And on the 6th day of August in the year of
our Lord 1597 Master Saunderson dean of the Deanery of Bulmer
certified the probate of the same will through the named sworn
witnesses and committed the administration of the goods to the same
Robert Colthropp (sic) of Thirsk for the use of Elizabeth Saier the
daughter of the deceased the only executor named in the will during
her minority."
