The Will of Isabella Rutherford

 

This is the last Will and Testament of me Isabella Rutherford of Port Gate in the Parish of Saint Johnley in the County of Northumberland Widow as follows that is to say, First I will and order that all my just Debts and Funeral Expences shall be paid off and discharged by my Executors hereafter named as soon as conveniently may be after my Decease And I give and bequeath the following Legacies to be paid as hereinafter mentioned that is to say To my Son William Rutherford the Sum of fifty pounds sterling to be paid him at the end of two Years after my Decease but without any Interest for the same in the meantime To my Daughter Isabella Dinning the Sum of thirty Pounds sterling to be paid her without Interest One year after my Decease To my Son Jacob the Sum of One hundred and fifty Pounds upon Condition that he give up all Claim he hath or may pretend to have in or to the Lease of the Farm I hold under the Reverend Houghton Clark of Hexham Clerk, by reason of his my said Son Jacob’s Name being inserted therein or his having executed the same or otherwise howsoever the Sum of twenty Pounds Part thereof to be paid him three Months next after my Decease and the Sum of one hundred and thirty pounds Residue thereof three Years next after my Decease with Interest at the Rate of five pounds for one hundred pounds by the Year in the meantime for such Residue. To my Daughter Susanna Hutchinson the Sum of Nineteen Pounds nineteen Shillings to be paid her one Year after my Decease without any Interest for the same To my Daughter Elizabeth Rutherford the Sum of One hundred pounds one half thereof to be paid one Year after my Decease and the other half four Years after my Decease but without Interest for any Part thereof And as to all the Rest and Residue of my Personal Estate and Effects I give and bequeath the same to my Daughter Rachel Rutherford and my Sons John Rutherford Major Rutherford and Robert Rutherford equally to be divided among them Share and Share alike and I hereby nominate and appoint them my said Daughter Rachel and Sons John, Major and Robert joint Executors of this my last Will and Testament and I do hereby revoke all former and other Wills at any time by me made either by Word or Writing and do publish and declare this to be and contain my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I the said Isabella Rutherford have hereunto set my Hand and Seal this twenty seventh Day of August in the Year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and eleven
