In the name of god amen I Thomas Rogers of
Lathom in the County palatine of Lancaster yeoman being weak of body
but of sound & perfect memory & understanding thanks be to god
therefore I do make this my last will and testament. In manner and
form following and first I commend my soul into the hands of
Almighty in hope of salvation them? the mezils and intercession of
our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and my body to decently buried at
the discretion of my executors and friends hereafter mentioned and
as to worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased god to bless me I
make the following disposal. Thereof and first it is my will and
mind is that my debts to be paid and my funeral expenses and charges
and probate of this my will be paid.
And then I give and bequeath to my son Thomas Rogers all my personal
estate goods cattles & chattles with my house & land now in
possession all rights & privileges paying my lawful debts and
funeral expenses both my son Thomas Rogers it is my will and mind
that he shall pay his brothers & sister that is to James Rogers and
John Rogers and Ellen Scarisbrick the sum of ten pounds a piece.
Every one of them three named before ten pounds and to be paid
yearly three pounds at a payment and it is my will & mind that my
daughter Ellen be paid ye first and after Ellen James and then John
and the first payment to be paid in twelve months after my decease
and go on three pounds at a payment til ye sum of thirty pounds be
paid to & the three named before and I do hereby nominate and
appoint my son John Rogers & Robert Taylor smith Lathom to be my
executors of this my last will & testament as my trust is in them
deposited and hereby to revoke all former wills owning this to be my
last will. In witness hereof set my hand & seal this 25th day of
January in the year of our Lord 1735.
