The Will of Margaret Sophia Rogers

 

This is the last Will and Testament of me Margaret Sophia Rogers Wife of The Revd John Methuen Rogers of Berkley in the County of Somerset I give all my Lands Tenements and Heredits in the Parish of Tyneham and elsewhere in the County of Dorset subject to such Estates and Limitations as are created by my marriage settlement and after the determination of the same to my Brother William Bond his heirs and assigns for ever as to my Personal Property subject also to such interests as are created by my marriage settlement I bequeath the same in the manner following I give to my highly esteemed and dearest husband the Revd John Rogers the sum of £3514.8 being part of a sum belonging to me in the 3 pr Cent reduced Annuities and standing in the names of my Brothers John and Nathaniel Bond as Trustees to my Marriage Settlement I give to my Brother John Bond the sum of ffive hundred pounds I give to Elizabeth Wife of the said John Bond the sum of Twenty Guineas for a Ring I give to Elizabeth and Sophia Daughters of the said John Bond ffifty pounds each I give to my Brother Nathaniel Bond the sum of ffive hundred pounds I give to my Brother Thomas Bond the sum of one thousand pounds I give to my Sister Corsellis a clear annuity of one hundred pounds per Annum for her sole and separate use during her life to be paid half yearly on Xmas and Midsummer days and I hereby charge all my real and Personal Property herein devised to my Brother William Bond with the payment of the same and I hereby appoint him Trustee for the purpose aforesaid I give to Jane Wife of my Brother William Bond Twenty Guineas for a ring I give to James and Mary Daughters of the said William Bond ffifty pounds each I give to the Poor of Tyneham Parish Thirty Pounds I give to the Poor of Steeple Parish ten pounds if my personal Estate is not sufficient to Pay the Annuity as aforesaid to my Sister Corsellis together with my Debts and Legacies I hereby charge my real estate with the Payments of such sums as are necessary to supply such deficiency I give the rest and residue of my estate real and personal whatsoever and wheresoever unto my said Brother William Bond his heirs executors Admors & Assigns for ever and I make my said Brother William Bond Executor of this my last Will and Testament to which I have set my hand and seal this third day of November One thousand eight hundred and nineteen – Margaret Sophia Rogers- Signed sealed and delivered as her last Will and Testament in the presence of us –

On 7 October 1820 Admin with this Will annexed of the Goods & Chattels and Credits of Margaret Sophia Rogers Wife of John Methuen Rogers Clerk late of Berkley in the County of Somerset deceased was granted to The Reverend William Bond Clerk the sole Executor he having been first sworn by commission duly to administer The Revd John Methuen Rogers Clerk the lawful Husband & the sole person entitled to the undisposed residue of the Personal estate having first consented
