The twenty and seventh
day of September in the
year of our Lord God one
thousand six hundred
fifty, I, Edward Rogers,
alias Withers, of the
parish of Pulton and
county of Somerset,
husbandman, being sick
and weak in body but of
perfect remembrance,
thanks be to God for the
same, do ordain and make
my last will and
testament in manner and
form following
First, I give and
bequeath my soul into
the hands of Almighty
God my maker and
Redeemer [trusting] that
God will forgive me all
my sins for Jesus
Christ’s sake, and my
body to be buried in the
churchyard of Pilton
without the chancel door
Item, I give to my son
Edward Rogers half the
ground in Norwood Park
which is two acres and
half to my part during
the three lives as by a
lease do plainly appear;
and I give to my son
Edward Rogers two acres
in ?Hartie Moor during
two lives as by a lease
do appear
Item, I give my son
Edward Rogers one acre
in Compton Field during
the lives that be in the
lease
Item, I give to my
daughter Alice Rogers
forty pounds in money to
be paid by my executor
in one half year after
my death
