This is the last Will
and Testament of me John
Rodbourn of Stanford in
the Vale in the County
of Berks Yeoman formerly
a Blacksmith First I
direct all my just debts
be paid I give to my
niece Hannah Rodbourn
now living with me All
my household furniture
in and about my dwelling
house and premises at
the time of my decease
Also a debts of one
hundred pounds due to me
from Mr Charles Hunter
and all interest thereon
Also the sum of two
hundred pounds three per
cent stock standing in
my name in the Books of
the Governor and Company
of the Bank of England I
also give and devise
unto my said niece All
my freehold house and
premises wherein I now
reside and the two
cottages adjoining To
hold the same to her
with the appurtenances
her heirs and assigns
for ever I give unto Ann
Aldridge a servant who
formerly lived with me
forty pounds sterling I
give unto the children
of my late wife’s
brother William Hughes
of Wantage living at my
decease the sum of four
hundred pounds like
stock to be equally
divided amongst them
share and share alike I
give unto the children
of my late sister Nanny
Shepherd of Marlborough
Wilts living at my
decease one hundred
pounds like stock to be
equally divided amongst
them share and share
alike I give unto my
sister Ann Allen of
Wantage Widow one
hundred pounds like
stock but if she should
die in my lifetime I
give the same to her
children equally I give
to my friends and
executors George Heater
of Wantage Berks
Watchmaker and John
Golding of Stanford
aforesaid Shopkeeper
five pounds each I give
and devise All that my
messuage and premises
Blacksmith’s shop and
premises at Stanford in
the Vale aforesaid now
in the occupation of
Richard Kimber And all
other my real estate
whatsoever and
wheresoever devised And
also all the rest and
residue of my personal
estate and effects
whatsoever unto my
brother Thomas Rodbourne
his heirs executors
administrators and
assigns to and for his
and their absolute use
and benefit And I
appoint the said George
Heater and John Hunter
Executors of this my
Will In witness whereof
I have hereunto set my
