In the name of God Amen I, Jane Robinson of
Burscough in the county of Lancaster, widow, considering the
uncertainty of this mortal life,and,being of sound and perfect mind,
memory and understanding (Blessed be Almighty God for the same) do
for the settling my temporal concerns make and publish this my last
Will and Testament in manner following. First it is my will and mind
that all my just debts, funeral expenses and the charges of the
probate hereof shall be paid out of my personal estate by my
executors herein named.
I give my undivided moiety of that front pew or seat (No 5) in the
south Gallery of the parish church of Ormskirk unto my grandson
James Robinson of Ormskirk aforesaid, draper, his heirs and assigns,
subject to and charged and chargeable nevertheless with two sittings
which I give unto his two sisters Mary Robinson and Jane Robinson
until such time as they are married and no longer.
I give and devise all that my newly erected cottage or dwelling
house, with its appurtenances, standing in Burscough now in my
possession unto Jane daughter of my late son Richard Robinson, to
Jane daughter of my son William Robinson and William Robinson son of
my late son John Robinson, share and share alike as tenants in
common and not as joint tenants and to the survivors and survivor of
them and to the heirs, executors, administrators and assigns of such
survivor during all my term, estate and interest therein.
I give and devise my undivided moiety or half part, of all that
messuage and tenement, with the lands thereto belonging lately
called the Anchor, situate in Burscough aforesaid unto the said
William son of my late son John Robinson, his heirs, executors,
admons and assigns during all my term, estate and interest, therein,
subject to and charged and chargeable, nevertheless, with the
payment of the sum of five pounds five shillings of lawful British
money which I give and bequeath as follows, to my daughter Mary the
wife of Richard Houlcroft one pound one shilling and the remaining
four pounds four shillings I will, order and direct the same to be
paid into the hands of my executors herein after named for and
towards my funeral expenses, to be paid in six months next after my
decease and in case of non payment I authorise and empower my said
executors to enter into possession of the same moiety and to receive
the rents and profits thereof until the said sum of five pounds five
shillings and interest shall be fully run up and satisfied.
I give and bequeath unto my grandchildren Edward, Henry, Charles,
John and Catherine sons and daughter of my said son John Robinson
the sum of three pounds ten shillings of lawful British money apiece
to be paid to them in six months next after my decease to as many of
them as shall be then of the age of twenty one years and if under
not to be paid till he, she or they be of the age of twenty one
years, and, in case any of the said five children happen to die
before he, she or they arrive at twenty one years of age then his,
her or their share or shares shall be divided and distributed among
the survivors, share and share alike.
And the rest, residue and remainder of my estate and effects I give
and bequeath to my said son William Robinson his heirs, executors
and administrators.
And lastly I do hereby revoke and make void all former or other will
or wills by me at any time heretofore made and declare and publish
this to be my only true last will and testament. And I do nominate,
appoint and make my said son William Robinson and my said grandson
James Robinson executors of this my last will and testament. In
witness whereof I the said Jane Robinson have hereunto set and put
my hand and seal the twenty third day of February in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and two.
